Social Service Agency is in need of an LMSW for their office. Temp to perm potential converting to $65,000-$68,000 based on experience
Harlem NY.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Provides Skill Building Services, including:
- Establishing client treatment goals
- Providing psychiatric supports
- Individual counseling and treatment, substance abuse counseling and treatment, trauma-informed counseling and treatment, family and group counseling, transitional counseling
- Psycho-education and wellness education
- Communicating with family, case planning staff and medical practitioners
- Enhancing compliance with behavioral health expectations
- Utilizing interventions drawn from evidence-based psychotherapeutic models
- Structuring interventions to decrease problem behavior and increase developmentally appropriate pro-social behavior
- Works collaboratively with State Plan Service providers, including Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services and Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment, along with Article 29 Clinic Staff.
- Completes all training requirements, including Mandated Reporter training
- Conducts individual psychotherapy on a regular basis and family therapy
- Provides mental health referrals as needed
- Attends IEP meetings and/or school related conferences.
- Participates in weekly clinical team meetings to provide mental health updates as well as educational updates on children
- Works in collaboration with other departments, agencies, systems and institutions to maximize scarce resources, as well as attends quarterly client service plan review meetings.
- Regularly assesses the safety and well-being of all clients being served
- Ensures quality assurance and excellence in service provision
- Performs other duties as assigned
- On call 24 hours crisis intervention for child/adolescents and foster parents

Requirements
EDUCATION:
- Master’s Degree in social work
- LMSW
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-masters experience working with children, families and adolescent populations
- Knowledge of substance abuse prevention and treatment
- Knowledge of psychotropic medications and familiarity with medication risk and side effects
- Strong mental health background; proficiency in mental health diagnoses
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong clinical skills and familiarity with CBT and TFCBT treatment
- Strong communication and presentation skills; able to facilitate trainings
- Strong interest in working with foster care youth and children and families at risk
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to establish a systematic course of action to accomplish specific objectives, determine priorities, and allocate time and resources effectively
- Able to develop and manage social work interns
- Able to effectively meet and communicate face-to-face with Program stakeholders
- Able to work collaboratively with people from all walks of life
- Able to manage time effectively and determine priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and Electronic Medical Records
- Detail oriented
- Bilingual preferred
