Job Summary

The Loss Control Consultant is responsible for evaluating and advising clients on operational, safety, and property-related risks to help minimize losses, improve risk management practices, and support underwriting decisions. This position involves conducting site assessments, identifying exposures, preparing technical reports, and providing actionable recommendations to insureds and internal stakeholders across a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, and other commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct loss control surveys and site assessments for policyholders across a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, environmental services, distribution, and related commercial operations.
  • Identify operational, safety, environmental, and regulatory exposures that may impact risk performance and profitability.
  • Evaluate workplace safety programs, fleet operations, contractor management practices, equipment usage, fire protection systems, and environmental controls.
  • Prepare detailed risk assessment reports and provide practical recommendations to reduce losses and improve risk quality.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and engineering teams to support risk selection, account servicing, and pricing decisions.
  • Provide technical guidance to insureds on risk management best practices, regulatory compliance, and loss prevention strategies.
  • Assist clients in developing and implementing safety programs, training initiatives, and corrective action plans.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging risks, and applicable regulations affecting construction, manufacturing, and environmental exposures.
  • Participate in large account reviews, claims investigations, and special projects as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agents, brokers, insureds, and internal business partners.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Risk Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in loss control, risk consulting, safety management, engineering, environmental health and safety, or a related field.
  • Experience evaluating construction operations, contractor exposures, manufacturing facilities, or complex commercial risks.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety principles, risk assessment methodologies, accident prevention, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with environmental and pollution-related exposures is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise technical reports and present findings to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ARM, CHMM, CIH, CRM, or similar designations are preferred.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and nationally as required.

Disclosure:

The salary range for this position is between $125,000.00 - $165,000.00
