Job Description:

About the Role:

Dow Jones is seeking a Manager, Growth Marketing Experimentation & Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) to help scale a next-generation experimentation program that fuels subscription growth across WSJ, and new verticals. As part of the Performance Marketing organization, this manager plays a critical part in shaping how we validate new audience strategies, optimize conversion funnels, and position our brands as premium, high-value products.

You will partner closely with Performance Marketing leads, Commerce Product, Subscription Strategy, and Engineering to design and evaluate audience experiments that inform messaging, paywall performance, onboarding, pricing, and retention.

A key component of this position is accelerating our experimentation velocity and insight generation through generative AI, LLM-powered analysis, and automation, ensuring that teams have faster, more sophisticated, and more actionable decision-support.

This is a high-impact role for someone who combines analytical rigor, strong storytelling, and a growth mindset with the ability to bring structure, innovation, and operational excellence to a rapidly scaling experimentation program.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Audience Insights & Analytics, you will work in our Midtown Manhattan office 3 days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Audience Experimentation Planning: Own the planning, launch, and interpretation of A/B and multivariate tests that drive acquisition, engagement, and retention improvements.

  • Funnel Recommendation & Insights: Translate quantitative results and audience behavior signals into concise, persuasive recommendations that influence subscription strategy and premium positioning.

  • CRO Consultant Partnership: Direct and prioritize the work of external optimization partners to ensure strategic alignment, high-quality execution, and measurable funnel impact.

  • Testing Program Management: Maintain and improve the experimentation pipeline, governance, QA processes, and centralized test calendar to enhance clarity, speed, and consistency across teams.

  • AI-Driven Funnel Optimization: Develop new workflows and tools that use generative AI to increase experimentation velocity, automate analysis, and uncover deeper insights from funnel data.

  • Support New Subscription Verticals: Conduct rapid experimentation and early-stage validation for new product bundles, pricing models, and premium offerings.

  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with Commerce Product, Engineering, Data Science, Performance Marketing leads, and Subscription Strategy to ensure instrumentation accuracy, consistent metrics, and shared understanding of results.

You Have:

  • The willingness to work in our midtown Manhattan office 3 days a week

  • 7+ years in experimentation, audience analytics, CRO, product insights, and/or growth marketing

  • Strong experience designing digital experiments and interpreting results with statistical rigor

  • Proficiency with data fluency and experience analyzing complex datasets

  • Experience synthesizing complex findings into clear narratives for senior stakeholders

  • Familiarity with analytics and experimentation tooling (SQL, Adobe/GA4, Optimizely, Statsig, Piano, Braze, or similar)

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple partners and workstreams in fast-moving environments

  • Strong project management, collaboration, and organizational skills

  • Experience with subscription funnels or paywall-driven businesses preferred
