Job Overview

The Copy Manager is responsible for elevating Bloomingdale’s brand voice and shaping content across all channels (print, digital, social). Proactive and full of ideas, the ideal candidate is a natural storyteller—and strong writer—with a keen understanding of luxury fashion, and how people shop today. The Copy Manager helps lead seasonal campaigns, developing the narrative, and building the messaging framework in alignment with strategic objectives and overall brand vision. This individual can think big picture while maintaining a laser-focused eye on the details; and always prioritizes the customer experience.

Essential Functions

  • Elevate Bloomingdale’s brand voice so it is informative, original, and aligned with the brand vision
  • Craft copy that is clear, impactful, and deliberate
  • Conceptualize 360° campaigns, taking them from idea to fruition 
  • Ensure consistency and adherence to Bloomingdale’s copy standards and tone of voice
  • Maintain the highest standards for writing and proofreading
     

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university or related experience
  • 6–10 years relevant experience at a retailer, magazine, or agency
  • Strong background in campaign concepting, either at an agency or in-house at a brand
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Keen understanding of copy needs by channel (digital media, catalog, email, homepage, etc.)
  • Communicates effectively and presents information in a clear, concise manner
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically, and technically
