The M&A team sits within Spotify’s Finance organization and plays a critical role in shaping the company’s strategic growth. We help source, evaluate, and execute acquisitions and investments that accelerate Spotify’s expansion into new markets, products, and technologies.

As part of a small, high-impact team, you’ll work on some of the company’s most important strategic initiatives, collaborating closely with leaders across product, business, finance, and legal to make ideas reality.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with business and product teams to identify and evaluate potential acquisitions and investments aligned with Spotify’s strategic objectives.
  • Lead key aspects of transaction execution, including financial modeling, valuation, deal negotiations, due diligence, and coordination of cross-functional work streams.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to assess opportunities, risks, and value creation potential.
  • Support the preparation of materials for senior management discussions, clearly articulating rationale, value drivers, structure, and expected impact.
  • Partner with Legal, Tax, Accounting, and other internal teams to drive deal diligence, negotiation, and closing processes.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders including founders, investors, and advisors.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and potential targets in media, technology, and AI.
  • Help refine and improve Spotify’s deal evaluation frameworks and processes to drive efficiency and insight across the team.
  • Thrive in a fast-moving, collaborative environment, balancing multiple priorities and stakeholders across geographies and functions.

Who You Are

  • You have 5+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development, ideally with exposure to technology, media, or consumer businesses.
  • You bring strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with deep understanding of valuation, deal structuring, and M&A fundamentals.
  • You have hands-on experience leading aspects of deal execution — negotiations, due diligence, cross-functional coordination, and transaction documentation.
  • You are a clear and compelling communicator, able to synthesize complex information into persuasive narratives for senior executives.
  • You are highly collaborative and adaptable, comfortable working across functions and time zones in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • You are curious and eager to learn, with a strong interest in how technology and creativity intersect to shape the future of media.
  • An MBA or other advanced degree is helpful but not required.

Where You'll Be

  • This role is based in New York, NY.
