Book of the Month is looking for a manager who is eager to shape how our brand shows up in the real world – outside of our app, website, and blue box. In this role, you’ll blend creative thinking with a strong attention to detail and impeccable taste to lead brand partnerships, collaborations, and events for Book of the Month. You should be comfortable thinking strategically, executing tactically, and iterating quickly based on data. You’ll own meaningful initiatives, form key relationships with potential partners and industry professionals, pitch and execute bold ideas, and help shape the out-of-home future of a brand readers love. We’re a small team with big ambitions — and your work will be visible and impactful from day one.

What you will do…

You will support our brand by:

  • Managing end-to-end execution of BOTM events – from brand partnership activations to literary festivals and author book launch parties. Key responsibilities include:
    • Owning the project plan and keeping timelines, deliverables, and approvals on track.
    • Communicating cross-functionally across Creative, Growth, Product, Operations, Editorial, and more.
    • Overseeing budgets, contracts, production, and on-site logistics for events and partnerships, with an eye for cost efficiencies.
    • Serving as the primary point of contact for partners, vendors, collaborators, and agencies.
    • Ensuring events run perfectly and meet our brand goals.
  • Owning a pipeline of event, partnership, and sponsorship opportunities, including identifying, pitching, and evaluating each opportunity that arises and keeping the cost/benefit ratio in mind.
  • Leading marketing strategy and generating social media content for each partnership and event, driving brand awareness and excitement across relevant audiences (members, industry partners, paid channels, etc.)
  • Developing recaps and reporting, setting performance targets/KPIs, and drawing actionable conclusions to inform future strategy and tie outcomes back to brand and growth goals.
  • Serve as a professional representative of Book of the Month by interfacing with industry partners at internal and external events, developing and maintaining relationships with the industry.
  • Cultivate relationships with media, journalists, and cultural tastemakers to secure PR coverage that builds awareness for Book of the Month and supports brand - and campaign - level goals.
  • Acting as a bridge between the Growth and Editorial teams to ensure we are meeting both our membership growth and industry relations objectives.

About you…

  • 4+ years of experience in brand partnerships, events, PR, or experiential marketing at a consumer brand.
  • Creative eye with strong taste and instincts for what events/partnerships will resonate with our audience.
  • A deep bench of contacts across other consumer brands.
  • Knack for building relationships across our industry and beyond in a way that elevates BOTM.
  • Experience with creative development — you can turn customer insights into compelling event or partnership concepts and judge if creative aligns with the strategy.
  • Analytical and data-driven, with the ability to interpret performance data and act on it.
  • A self-starter with a track record of taking ownership and driving projects from strategy to execution.
  • Ability to perform in a highly iterative and dynamic work environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • High standards for quality and attention to detail.
  • A love of reading and contemporary fiction.
  • An understanding of publishers, imprints, and the book industry preferred.
  • Past experience managing a social media account or generating social content preferred.
