We operate across multiple states and are rapidly expanding a network of rural clinics co-located with pharmacies. Our goal is to deliver scalable, high-quality care while improving access, outcomes, and cost efficiency.

Role Overview

The Regional Operations Manager will oversee a cluster of Pharmacy1st-owned pharmacies across a defined region.

This person will be the P&L owner for each pharmacy in their region and will be responsible for driving revenue growth, improving profitability, supporting Pharmacists in Charge, and ensuring consistent execution across sites.

This is a field-based operating role. The Regional Operations Manager will travel frequently to pharmacies, lead business review meetings with Pharmacists in Charge, troubleshoot site-level issues, and serve as the primary link between Corporate HQ and local pharmacy teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesRegional P&L Ownership
  • Own financial performance for each pharmacy in the assigned region.

  • Manage site-level revenue, gross profit, operating expenses, and contribution margin.

  • Review pharmacy financials regularly and identify opportunities to improve performance.

  • Partner with finance and leadership to track performance against budget, forecast, and growth targets.

  • Develop action plans for underperforming pharmacies and ensure follow-through.

Pharmacy Operations Management
  • Oversee daily operating performance across pharmacies in the assigned region.

  • Work directly with Pharmacists in Charge to identify and resolve operational issues.

  • Ensure each pharmacy is operating efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with Pharmacy1st standards.

  • Support improvements in prescription volume, workflow efficiency, inventory management, and patient service.

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical solutions at the site level.

Business Review and Performance Management
  • Lead regular business review meetings with each Pharmacist in Charge.

  • Review key metrics, including revenue, scripts, gross margin, labour productivity, inventory, patient experience, and cash flow.

  • Establish clear performance goals and accountability for each location.

  • Track progress against agreed action items after each site visit.

  • Escalate material issues to Corporate HQ with clear recommendations.

Field Leadership and Site Support
  • Travel frequently to pharmacies across the assigned region.

  • Build strong relationships with Pharmacists in Charge, pharmacy technicians, and local teams.

  • Serve as the face of operations between Corporate HQ and local pharmacies.

  • Ensure local teams feel supported while maintaining high performance expectations.

  • Help translate company priorities into practical site-level execution.

Issue Resolution and Continuous Improvement
  • Troubleshoot site-level issues related to staffing, workflow, inventory, payer issues, patient experience, or vendor performance.

  • Identify recurring problems across pharmacies and develop scalable solutions.

  • Share best practices across sites within the region.

  • Support standardisation of operating playbooks, reporting cadences, and performance management routines.

Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Partner with Corporate HQ across finance, pharmacy operations, clinical services, compliance, HR, and growth.

  • Communicate site-level needs, risks, and opportunities back to leadership.

  • Support acquisition integration for newly acquired pharmacies in the region.

  • Ensure regional execution is aligned with Pharmacy1st’s broader operating and financial goals.

QualificationsRequired
  • 5 plus years of experience in pharmacy operations, healthcare operations, retail operations, or multi-site operations management.

  • Direct experience managing multiple locations or a regional operating portfolio.

  • Strong financial acumen and experience owning or managing P&L performance.

  • Ability to interpret site-level financials and translate insights into action.

  • Experience leading performance reviews, operating cadences, and accountability systems.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with frontline teams and senior leadership.

  • Willingness to travel frequently across the assigned region.

  • High ownership mindset and ability to operate in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred
  • Experience in independent pharmacy, retail pharmacy, healthcare services, or multi-site healthcare operations.

  • Experience working directly with Pharmacists in Charge or pharmacy teams.

  • Familiarity with prescription volume drivers, pharmacy workflow, inventory management, payer dynamics, and gross margin performance.

  • Experience integrating newly acquired locations into a larger operating platform.

  • Experience operating in rural or small town markets.
