Product Manager - Open Finance Data
We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Open Finance Product team, focused on building and evolving data-driven products powered by open finance.
This role is ideal for a well-rounded Product Manager who is curious about customer problems, comfortable working with data and technology, and motivated to develop strong commercial product judgement. You will work closely with Product Leadership, Engineering, Data Science, Sales, Sales Engineering, Legal, Privacy, Finance, and regional teams to take opportunities from early discovery through delivery, launch, adoption, and iteration.
Responsibilities• Develop a strong working understanding of Mastercard's open finance data products, including data sources, enrichment concepts, and product behaviour• Plan and conduct customer discovery with customers, prospects, Sales, and implementation teams to understand problems, workflows, unmet needs, and existing alternatives.• Synthesise customer evidence, market insight, competitor research, and internal priorities into clear opportunity assessments and product recommendations.• Help identify which open finance datapoints and derived insights can create customer value, support new products, or benefit wider Mastercard initiatives.• Define customer problems, target users, value hypotheses, MVPs, assumptions, success measures, and learning plans for new opportunities.• Track product performance and metrics, surfacing insights and issues to Product Leadership• Contribute to propositions, business cases, packaging, pricing inputs, and go-to-market plans, working with Finance, Sales, regional, and other specialist teams.• Work closely with Engineering and Data Science teams to understand technical constraints and trade-offs • Contribute to market and competitor intelligence, including customer needs, commercial attractiveness, local data realities, and differences across European markets.• Support the delivery of data-driven features and enhancements from concept through launch and iteration• Partner with Legal and Privacy teams to ensure products are built in line with Mastercard's data, consent, and compliance standards • Actively build expertise in open banking / open finance, transaction data, and data-driven product development
All About You• Bachelor's degree required, analytical / technical degree from a top-tier program preferred• Experience as a Product Manager working on technology-led or data-driven products• Curiosity about customers and the ability to turn conversations, research, and feedback into clear problem statements and product decisions• Analytical mindset with the ability to define meaningful measures, reason about trade-offs, and connect product or data performance to customer value.• Clear written and verbal communication with the ability to make a recommendation, explain the supporting evidence, and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams• Prior Open Banking / Open Finance experience • A proactive ownership mindset, with the ability to manage dependencies, surface risks, follow through on decisions, and take increasing accountability for outcomes• Experience working cross-functionally to develop and implement data solutions that maximise business value
