Manager, Research & Insights - Enterprise Marketing & Communications
Overview:
The consumer is at the center of decision making at Mastercard. The Manager, Enterprise Research & Insights will partner with Enterprise and Regional Marcomms, Product and broader cross-functional teams, uncovering consumer and customer insight to drive strategy and impact.
The successful candidate will drive growth by leading custom research (qualitative and quantitative) and leveraging AI tools to surface thought-provoking insights, present them to business partners, advocate for their recommendations and successfully influence critical business decisions.
Responsibilities:• Partner with Enterprise and Regional Marcomms/Product teams to drive strategy through consumer and customer insights• Develop and execute research plans based on identifying key business questions and knowledge gaps• Execute complex primary research projects, managing research agency and business partner relations• Manage research projects from start to finish - translating business questions into research plan, source appropriate research partner, develop questionnaire, analytic rigor, reporting/presentations (including synthesis into clear business implications)• Derive actionable insights to inform appropriate business decision through the lens of consumer, customer and business goals/priorities• Integrate primary research, secondary sources, and market/competitive intelligence to create impactful perspectives• Manage research agencies to successful and timely project delivery, managing within budget and time constraints• Develop best practices, new methodologies and standardization that can be leveraged and scaled across regions• Drive continuous innovation in research methodologies, tools and technology to ensure Mastercard remains at the forefront of research and AI technologies• Work with business partners globally and cross-functionally to drive impact
Core Competencies:• An analytical mindset, with a passion for deconstructing and reframing questions to get to a clear hypothesis or action plan• A superb communicator, able to deliver insight-driven recommendations in an engaging, fresh and impactful manner, cutting through the complex to tell a simple, compelling narrative• Exceptional storytelling skills with the ability to translate data into strategic implications• Strong problem solving, analytical & quantitative skills• Ability to connect consumer & customer insights with market trends to develop hypotheses around results/next steps• Ability to translate insights into business decisions and measurable outcomes• Strong data packaging, data visualization, and storytelling skills; ability to simplify complexity for senior audiences • Successful delivery of presentations to senior leadership or stakeholders• Experience designing & managing end-to-end research (both qualitative and quantitative)• Experience across a broad range of market research techniques• Experience managing global research and B2B research• Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills, experience with AI-enabled analysis platforms• A team player who thrives working collaboratively, inspiring others and bringing out the best in the wider team• Highly proactive and autonomous self-starter who demonstrates strong ownership over their work• Ability to work effectively with internal colleagues across functions and geographies
All About You:• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Consumer insights or related field.• 5-7 years research/insights experience at a research agency or in-house on the client-side• Experience with and understanding of a wide range of consumer insights tools & techniques• Experience in the payments/financial industry a plus but not required• High energy, enthusiastic and passionate about uncovering insights and driving impact• Insatiable curiosity to learn, grow and understand humans at a deeper level to identify growth opportunities• B2B experience is a plus

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Mastercard benefits for interns generally include: 56 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time; jury duty leave; and on-site fitness facilities in some locations.

Purchase, New York: $135,000 - $222,000 USD
