Job Overview:

The Manager of Workforce Strategy and Planning, in partnership with the Staffing team, helps drive the staffing priorities for the company through the development and execution of analytics and initiatives that support Bloomingdale’s strategic priorities. The Manager monitors these programs and adjusts accordingly to maximize sales results, profit and performance.

 

Essential Functions:

· Leads the analytics behind staffing initiatives and help develop strategies that align to the company’s priorities

o Provides recaps and actionable recommendations and provides directional leadership to improve results

o Leverages information to evaluate effectiveness of strategies and identifies staffing opportunities/challenges that re-allocate and maximize our resources to drive sales and profit results

· Publish and maintain select monthly reporting

o Regularly review and provide insight to react to the needs of the business through recommendations for staffing re-allocation

o Monthly creation and analyzation of the BAR (Bloomingdale’s Area Report-staffing metrics report). This critical report regularly monitors business results and staffing/expense performance

· Develop improved reporting and analytical tools to advantage expense and staffing management

· Participate in the Annual/Seasonal Staff Planning process. This will include benchmarking expense and staffing plans based on select metrics. Using this information, they will partner and help develop the store staffing plans for all areas of Selling, Cosmetics, Support and the Outlets

· Directly responsible for forecasting and budgeting the weekly flow of hours for schedule generation, which support in-store events and maximize coverage

· Monitor and maintain the Store Hours platform

o Analyzes and oversees the recommendations of Store hours in all locations to maximize productivity of resources and payroll while optimizing sales results

· Reacts to business trends to drive business opportunities and minimize expense exposure

· Create Ad Hoc reporting as needed for stores and central merchant initiatives to drive sales

 

Qualifications:

· Education/Experience: 4-year college degree. 3-4 years or more of Work experience.

· Retail background is preferred

· Must have strong analytical skills and be able to delve into complex data and information, analyze possible options and develop and implement recommendations

· Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS-Access. Ability to balance competing priorities. Strong follow–up skills and sense of urgency. Ability to learn new systems.

· Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and analytical skills.

· Execute plans by developing detailed and well-defined action steps

· Able to work with Senior Management and Store Teams

· Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and meet deadlines

 

· Highly organized and detail oriented

· Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.

· Reasoning Ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate as part of a team

· Physical Demands: This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting, hearing, and talking. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Involves use of hands and fingers for typing on keyboard and using a mouse. May be a need to move or lift items under 10 pounds.

· Work Hours: Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
