Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $88,500.00 - $134,750.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.What you will be doing

HSS Supply Chain Management is an enterprise-wide centralized department which solicits proposals, and negotiates contracts for goods, services, medical equipment and capital while performing vital functions such as strategic planning, sourcing, purchasing, receiving/distribution, and inventory control.


Strategic Sourcing is a systematic approach to procurement that focuses on maximizing value from purchasing decisions by aligning with business goals and using a formalized approach to information gathering aiming to optimize the supply chain, reduce costs and improve quality. Key aspects of Strategic Sourcing include data collection & analysis, market research, supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, continuous improvement and alignment with strategic plan and goals.


The Strategic Sourcing Manager will play a pivotal role in a dynamic business/operational environment supporting the purchasing and inventory management activities for the medsurg spend category. The Strategic Sourcing Manager uses their contract management expertise to review, monitor and negotiate contracts, ensure compliance with procurement policies and legal requirements while continuously analyzing spending, identifying cost reduction opportunities, and recommending implementation plans in partnership with peri-op, central sterile, labs, anesthesia, nursing department and offsite end users.


Additionally, the Strategic Sourcing Manager will monitor product backorders, shortage, replacements and establish alternative sourcing plans ensuring no impact on clinical workflows and patient care. The manager works very closely with the logistics teams including GPO and Distributors to work out short-term and long-term inventory management solutions, including storage, transfers and distribution.


Lastly, the manager coordinates new product requests and evaluations through the Value Analysis program workflows and committees.


 

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Contract Background – Reviews & negotiates contracts, terms and conditions, and ramifications of contractual verbiage as it relates to the product, service, supplier in question and those ramifications within the enterprise. Develop contracts supporting HSS business requirements, including clearly defined expectations/goods specifications, performance measurement practices and shortfall remedies. Leverages HSS Workday ERP and CLM tools to streamline the contract life cycle process.

·         Supplier Relationship Management – Manages and enhances existing contracts with key suppliers through quarterly business reviews. Identifies and implements changes to help strengthen business partnerships. Establishes and monitors supplier performance expectations, KPIs, service levels, and corrective action plans to ensure contracted suppliers consistently deliver expected cost, quality, service, and operational outcomes.

·         Analytics Skills – Analyze and interpret data both financially and qualitatively to present, interpret outcomes, and make data driven recommendations to leadership. Quantifies and tracks projected and realized savings, cost avoidance, rebates, and other financial benefits in partnership with Finance and key stakeholders.

·         Market Evaluations – Interprets market and competitive intelligence through formal and informal processes. Advocates competitive decision-making in the most efficient process and evaluates supplier capabilities to meet HSS needs through fair and thorough techniques.

·         Sourcing Strategies - Defines sourcing strategies that optimize value considering requestor/end-user needs and market conditions. Ensures the team achieves project timing, service, and savings objectives. Identify the most beneficial means to access markets and drive the supplier’s behavior accordingly.  Develops comprehensive category strategies for assigned MedSurg spend, including supplier consolidation, product standardization, contract penetration, demand management, and long-term sourcing opportunities aligned with enterprise objectives. Leverages Workday Strategic Sourcing tools to streamline sourcing events.


·         Projects – Assess needs and initiates projects with key stakeholders based on high spend profile, potential for savings, upcoming expirations, process, inventory and technology improvements, capital projects, and value analysis related initiatives. Initiate and manage RFx events to ensure HSS is receiving the best value. Leads the end-to-end source-to-contract lifecycle from opportunity identification and stakeholder requirements through competitive sourcing, supplier evaluation, negotiation, contract execution, implementation, and transition to ongoing contract management. Partners with clinical stakeholders and Value Analysis to evaluate standardization and conversion opportunities based on cost, quality, outcomes, and operational requirements.

·         Drives departmental culture and promotes data-driven decision-making, consumer driven analytics, marketing, and investment planning across the department.

·         Provides management visibility into data-driven insights that inform the department’s strategic direction and KPI’s and determines the adoption of suitable toolsets that drive innovation. Utilizes ERP, contract lifecycle management, spend analytics, GPO, distributor, and electronic transaction data to improve sourcing visibility, contract compliance, and decision-making.

·         Assess the total financial value of sourcing events, identify risks of growth opportunities as well as provide analytics that will position the business for dynamic growth Partners with Procurement Operations, Logistics, Finance, clinical stakeholders, GPOs, distributors, and manufacturers to implement negotiated agreements, optimize contract utilization and pricing, support supplier or product conversions, and ensure expected financial and operational value is realized.

 

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: The Strategic Sourcing Manager must be proactive, detail oriented, collaborative, have superior problem-solving skills and a positive can-do attitude.


 

LEADERSHIP SKILLS: The Strategic Sourcing Manager must demonstrate ability to inspire and collaborate cross functionally and influence the decision-making process through data and analytics.


 

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: A highly experienced healthcare professional with at least five years of experience in Medsurg (e.g. Nursing Ward, PPE,Wound Care,etc.) Strategic Sourcing.


 

EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

A. bachelor’s degree, preferably business/healthcare administration/supply chain.

B. Master’s Degree, preferred

A. ERP Systems

B. Proficient levels of MS Excel

C. MS Visio, Project, Word, PowerPoint

D. Adobe & DocuSign applications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is primarily sedentary in nature and performed in a business office environment. No special physical demands are required.

 

RISK OF EXPOSURE TO BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS: Category III-Tasks that involve NO exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, and Category I tasks that are not a condition of employment.
