Job Description:

NOTE: This role is based in NYC and requires a minimum of three days a week in the SoHo, NY office.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Scholastic Books is currently seeking a creative, organized, and energetic Marketing Assistant to support our Middle Grade and Young Adult Marketing team. This individual will work under the supervision of the Senior Marketing Director and provide general administrative support to the teams and interface with the other marketing categories (Publicity and School and Library). The ideal candidate will be incredibly detail-oriented, creative, proactive, strategic, and will be able to multi-task and manage a multitude of projects as part of a dynamic team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overall admin support for the team (setting meetings, soliciting agendas, compiling and circulating notes, organizing projects, coordinating mailings, and general support).

  • Daily project assistance across title campaigns (including opening all projects in the Work Front project management tool, select copy writing of advertising, etc,).

  • Assist Marketing Managers on large projects and initiatives.

  • Work closely with managers to implement social media campaigns for I read YA and Scholastic.

  • Coordinate all sell-in materials, promotional giveaways, and departmental mailings (including social media giveaways, contests, and special bookstore mailings).

  • Create seasonal tracking grids, and update marketing plans across all internal systems as campaigns evolve.

  • The ideal candidate should be a quick learner who wants a career in the book publishing industry and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written), good judgment, and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to multi-task with all administrative duties.

  • Bachelor’s degree, proficient in Microsoft Office, social media knowledge and skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva.

  • The ability to work both independently, as well as with a team.
