The summary above was generated by AI

Profound is the fastest-growing AI marketing platform, used by 15% of the Fortune 500 including Comcast, Estée Lauder, and Walmart, and innovators like Ramp, MongoDB, and Figma. It is where marketing teams do the work: research, briefs, content, campaigns, reporting, all in one place, alongside agents that carry the load with them.

Built on 2B+ real user prompts and growing, Profound’s data shows you what people ask AI and what the models say back. Profound's AI Marketer joins that data with deep context about our customers to find the opportunities worth acting on, and then puts agents to work: automating reporting, drafting content, auditing pages for readability, running competitive research. It measures what works and gets better every day.

The Role
We're hiring an organic growth expert to own AEO and SEO at Profound. You’ll lead how we grow through AI answer engines, supported by a strong foundation in traditional search, and turn that visibility into qualified demand and pipeline.
You'll use Profound every day to grow Profound. That means finding where we're missing from relevant conversations, understanding which sources shape the answers, and getting changes live. You'll also bring what you learn back to our Product team and help us show customers and the broader market what effective AEO looks like in practice. Help us define what good marketing looks like at the frontier of brand discoverability.
What You'll Do

  • Own our organic growth strategy. Build and execute a roadmap for how Profound gets discovered, cited, and recommended across AI answer engines and traditional search. Prioritize the questions, topics, and sources that matter most to our market.

  • Turn data into published work. Use search demand, prompt data, citation decay, and competitive gaps to decide what we should create and update. Work with Content and subject matter experts to publish fresh and custom content on a near-constant basis.

  • Keep the site technically sound. Partner with Web and Engineering on crawlability, indexing, rendering, site architecture, internal linking, and structured data. Write clear implementation briefs and verify the changes.

  • Build our presence beyond our website. Identify the publications, communities, and other sources that appear in answers about our category. Work with PR, Partnerships, and Social to earn relevant coverage and contribute useful expertise.

  • Run disciplined experiments. Test content formats, page structures, technical changes, and distribution approaches. Document what changed, what happened, and what the evidence supports.

  • Build repeatable workflows. Use Profound’s AI Marketer to speed up research, audits, monitoring, and reporting. Keep human review where accuracy and editorial judgment matter.

  • Understand our market. You look beyond keywords to understand what buyers are trying to solve and what would move them toward an evaluation or purchase.

  • Connect visibility to business results. Track search performance, AI mentions and citations, qualified traffic, conversions, and pipeline. Be clear about what we can measure and where attribution is incomplete.

  • Inform how we build Profound. Share product feedback from running our own program. Turn useful findings into examples, research, and playbooks our customers can apply.

  • Help define the role of the Marketing Engineer. Share what you learn, publish outcomes from our experiments, and develop a clear point of view on what works. Bring that expertise to industry conversations.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years in SEO or organic growth, with experience owning a program and delivering measurable results. We weigh what you've built more heavily than time in seat.

  • You've run hands-on AEO experiments and can explain what you tested, how you measured it, and what you learned.

  • You understand technical SEO well enough to diagnose problems, prioritize fixes, and work through implementation with engineers.

  • You have strong editorial judgment. You can write a useful brief, edit a page yourself, and recognize when content needs original expertise or research.

  • You use AI tools regularly and can build or adapt workflows with APIs, scripts, or automation platforms.

  • You can distinguish a promising signal from a result that needs more testing, and explain both clearly.

  • You can make complex ideas easy to understand by translating technical concepts into clear recommendations and connection to business impact.

  • You take ownership from recommendation through execution. You're comfortable making decisions, collaborating across teams, and adjusting quickly as you learn.

Compensation & Benefits

This is an on-site role in our New York office—designed for builders who thrive on speed, iteration, and impact. For this role, the expected base salary range is $100,000–$200,000, plus equity and a full suite of benefits and perks. Final compensation will depend on your experience and fit.

Note: All official communication from Profound will come from a @tryprofound.com email address. If you're contacted by anyone using a different domain, please disregard and report it as spam.
