About This Job

Synonym’s Marketing Lead will be responsible for helping define and execute on our demand generation and account-based strategy across our Scaler and Match product offerings. This includes creating marketing playbooks, developing sales enablement materials, generating qualified leads, writing compelling content and building a strong community around the bioeconomy’s thought leaders.


Synonym’s Marketing Lead will report to the Chief Business Officer and closely work with other members of the team.

Outcomes and Mandate

  • Account-Based Marketing: Work closely with the Business Development team to define and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy for key prospects throughout all phases of the sales funnel, from demand generation to deal closure.

  • Content/Email Marketing: Create content focused on our products, industry and company including email, blog posts, whitepapers, LinkedIn, newsletters and videos that move customers through our sales funnel and position Synonym as the thought leader in biomanufacturing.

  • Demand Generation: Work with Business Development to conduct market research and segmentation to understand and target ICPs within the Fortune 5000 and startup ecosystems and create strategies to generate qualified leads in these markets. Define and execute a comprehensive marketing plan for key markets and prospects through all stages of the funnel toward closure. Work with our Business Development team to take those prospects to deal closure.

  • Sales Enablement: Develop sales enablement assets, such as case studies, landing pages, and pitch decks, to accelerate Business Development efforts in all phases of the sales funnel.

  • Events: Keep tabs on the events happening in our industry and make sure Synonym shows up well – from meeting preparation to booth design

  • Paid Media Campaigns: Plan, execute, manage and optimize ad campaigns on platforms such as Google Ads and Linkedin advertising channels to maximize ROI and achieve business goals.

  • Social Media Marketing: Maintain and own Synonym’s social media calendar (with a primary focus on LinkedIn) writing engaging copy and creating supporting visual content.

Competencies

  • 5+ years of marketing experience working in-house or at an agency, preferably in the biotech, SaaS or clean energy industries

  • Experience running account-based marketing strategies and campaigns

  • Awareness of – and competence with – AI tools used in the full marketing stack, from lead generation to content creation

  • Experience creating and executing on successful paid advertising campaigns

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate scientific and technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Familiarity with marketing tools such as Google AdWords, LinkedIn, Mailchimp, Figma

  • Experience managing external vendors such as (but not limited to) designers and agencies

  • Experience working in an early stage, fast growing startup preferred

  • Salary Range: $105,000 - $175,000
