Position Summary
We’re looking for a strategic, high-impact Marketing Manager to join our team.  Reporting to the Chief Strategy an External Affairs Officer, the Marketing Manager is responsible for driving brand visibility, market engagement, and business growth through integrated marketing initiatives. This role combines strategic planning, campaign execution, stakeholder collaboration, and performance analysis to move target audiences from awareness to engagement and conversion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties of this role are grouped into these categories, with the approximate percentage of time spent on each category indicated below
Campaign Management (20%)
Design and manage a portfolio of high-priority marketing campaigns and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and target audiences.
Marketing Strategy (20%)
Develop and implement integrated marketing plans that include digital campaigns, events, thought leadership, content marketing, and personalized outreach in coordination with executive leadership and other members of the External Relations team.
Content Leadership (15%)
Lead the development of marketing materials, campaign messaging, presentations, and promotional assets in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Coordination (15%)
Partners with leadership, program teams, and external advisors to present compelling cases for support and maintain alignment with strategic objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement (10%)
Partner with executive leadership, industry engagement  teams, and subject matter professionals to ensure marketing programs support strategic priorities.
Reporting & Analytics (10%)
Prepare regular reports and dashboard updates on campaign activity, lead generation, audience engagement, pipeline contribution, and return on investment.
Budget & Operations Coordination (10%)
Work collaboratively with Finance and the Chief Strategy and External Affairs Officer to track marketing budgets, process vendor expenses, and manage resource allocation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong strategic thinking and campaign planning capabilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make performance-based recommendations.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and influence decision-making without direct authority.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, campaign management, or business development support.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive measurable business results.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, stakeholders, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience working with CRM systems, marketing automation tools, analytics platforms, and digital marketing channels preferred.

Work Model/Location
This role is available as a remote or hybrid work arrangement, although hybrid is preferred.  If hybrid, you are expected to work on-site in New York City at least 1 day per week on Wednesday, based on Break Through Tech and team needs.  If remote, periodic in-person attendance is required for all-staff meetings, trainings, retreats, or similar Break Through Tech events.
Compensation
The annual salary range is $100,000 - $115,000, depending on experience.
