Here at Zola, we’re seeking an exceptional Marketplace Strategy and Operations Director, Zola for Vendors -  to help drive our fast-growing Vendor Marketplace platform.  This business is at an exciting stage of growth.  We’re looking for a collaborative, scrappy, analytical problem-solver who can help grow this critical area of Zola’s business.  You’ll report directly to the GM & SVP of Vendor Marketplace, and you’ll partner closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and many other teams at Zola.

Our ideal candidate has a track record of success in roles at growing companies, ideally at a Marketplace with B2B Sales Org.  You love both building and optimizing, and both strategizing and executing.  You are a structured and creative thinker, able to toggle easily between the big themes and the little details.  You love data and customer insights, you are equally comfortable in Excel and Powerpoint, and you can prove your ability to learn new systems quickly.  And you love working with kind, smart colleagues who share a commitment to putting the customer first!

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Being the “Vendor Marketplace business authority”
    • Informing the growth strategy, in partnership with the GM, and owning the execution of key pieces of that strategy
    • Deeply understanding what’s working and not working; digging into complex/ambiguous data to surface actionable insights and strategies
    • Leading cross-functional teams on projects to help us grow
    • Refining the business model
    • Building ambitious annual plans for the business unit, then analyzing and reporting on performance along our primary KPIs
    • Conducting business and financial analysis of new offerings/ideas
    • Partnering with BI & Data Analytics teams to build out the data and analytics infrastructure for Vendor Marketplace
  • Deeply understanding our Wedding Vendor customer group and thinking creatively about how to serve them better
    • Conducting and analyzing customer research; sharing insights widely within the team and company
    • Partnering as needed with Marketing and Business Development as they develop messaging, campaigns, and partnerships
    • Collaborating with Product to identify new features, offerings, and opportunities, and supporting them in analysis on performance

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS
  • 7+ years of professional experience in a fast-paced environment working in strategy, finance, bizops, growth, consulting, or another related field
    • Startup or other operating experience strongly preferred
  • Exceptional business and customer experience judgment
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; presents effectively to a senior audience
  • Excellent quantitative and Excel skills; familiarity with SQL is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage competing tasks in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment
  • Ability to build business relationships across functional teams
