Business Insider is hiring an Intern to join our Media Studios / Product & Tech Department to assist in the day-to-day operations of Business Insider video equipment reservation systems and studio production. The Internship Program is for post graduate production applicants who want to spend several months learning from a passionate and dedicated technical production staff.

The Role & Team:

As a Media Studios Intern you will assist under supervision in the day-to-day operations of Business Insider video equipment reservation systems, distribution and general maintenance of video equipment and studio production.

This role reports directly to the Director of Media Studios. This role will be an in-office position located at One Liberty Plaza, NYC. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble equipment reservations each morning for Video Producers & Editorial employees.
  • Keeping track of, and minor maintenance of video equipment.
  • Actively monitoring employee equipment reservations and staying on top of overdue reservations. Ensuring all equipment is properly returned, and that everything is in order.
  • Filling various positions on shoots (camera operator, teleprompter operator, audio operator, technical Director, etc.).  
  • Setting up our auditorium area for requested meetings (projector, TV, microphones, etc). 

The Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Broad understanding of cinema production, production switchers, audio boards, and various production equipment such as studio cameras and lights.
  • Broad understanding of video editing concepts such Adobe Premiere along with various types of audio and digital video equipment. 
  • This person thrives in a fast-paced production environment and can multitask.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: $20.00 an Hour - 1 year
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • Eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits on 91st day of employment
