NewsNation is hiring a resourceful Booking Producer for its primetime program 'On Balance with Leland Vittert.' The Booking Producer is responsible for working with the editorial team to organize and schedule on-camera guests, make pitches and handle newsmaker requests. The position requires excellent editorial insight and organizational/communication skills as well as the ability to multitask under deadline. The role is based in the network’s New York studios.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Identify top tier guests for targeted stories and book them for the show, facilitating all logistic details as needed

• Manage guests from the control room.  During air, checking in and out guests and jumping on last-minute bookings for breaking news, etc.

• Conduct pre-interviews and in-depth research on a range of topics

• Source and organize elements for show segments; coordinate with show producers

• Pitch stories on a daily basis with unique editorial angles suitable for the show

• Cultivate external relationships to help ensure topical and quality guest bookings

• Build and maintain a calendar and guest database

• Monitor the latest news and locate people, images, and sound editorial information via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Dataminr, YouTube, and other platforms

Requirements & Skills:

• A bachelor's degree is preferred

• Extensive list of contacts and ability to find and book high-profile guests, as well as people at the center of major news stories

• 3+ years of editorial experience in a fast-paced environment for a national news program (broadcast, cable or digital)

• Strong editorial judgement and research skills

• Knowledge of and passion for current events and politics.

• Willingness and ability to work under tight deadline pressures while juggling long-term bookings

• Flexibility with hours, as the news cycle and deadlines warrant

• Experience with LexisNexis, ENPS would be valuable

Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 commensurate with experience
