Job Title: Operations Associate
Reports to (title): VP, Director - Sales & Shareholder Administration
Job Description:
Alger seeks an Operations Associate to oversee day-to-day transfer agency operations for the onshore and offshore Mutual Fund products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily oversight of the transfer agent’s operations, including trade processing, account maintenance, and reconciliations.
- Review and track key performance and service level metrics to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Support periodic due diligence reviews and documentation of control testing.
- Review shareholder activity reports and identify potential data discrepancies or trends.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports and escalation summaries.
- Maintain accurate records of correspondence, issue logs, and service review notes.
- Participate in projects to enhance automation, reporting efficiency, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Legal, Compliance) to resolve TA-related inquiries.
- Maintain and update mutual fund profiles through DTCC/NSCC systems to ensure timely and accurate fund information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above in a 4.0 scale is required
- 2-5 years of relevant experience working with transfer agent and intermediaries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities with a proactive approach to tasks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Strong follow-up skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, and formulas
- Interest in mutual funds, transfer agency operations, and investment management industry.
- Series 6, 7 or relevant course work preferred.
Salary Expectations: $80,000-100,000 base salary plus discretionary bonus per performance
