Jackpocket is the first mobile lottery app in the U.S. that offers players a secure way to order official state lottery tickets, such as Powerball, Mega Millions, and more, via their smartphones. We're creating a more convenient, fun, and responsible way to play the lottery by modernizing the $300B global lottery market with a mobile platform that everyone, including grandma, can feel good about.
As Jackpocket’s COO, you’ll play an integral role in the strategic direction of the business and assume ownership of the operations function as we continue rapid expansion throughout the US market. In this role you’ll collaborate closely with the CEO and various business leaders on mission critical initiatives across functions and lead operational strategy pertaining to expansion into new markets, process and workflow optimization, logistics, people operations, regulatory and more with the goal of continuously improving efficiency and scaling Jackpocket’s operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the central leader for the operations function and a senior member of the executive leadership team
- Develop and leverage deep knowledge of Jackpocket’s operations systems and processes and continually ideate and execute strategic initiatives to improve operational performance and efficiency
- Own the P&L for the operations function and participate actively in financial and strategic planning
- Design and implement structure and spearhead the continued buildout of operations systems and teams with a tech-forward and regulatory/compliance oriented approach
- Implement strategies and best practices around sourcing and supply chain activities
- Lead planning for operational expansion and develop comprehensive infrastructure to support new market launches
- Maintain strong industry knowledge and relationships and provide insights to the leadership team on trends and potential opportunities
- Act as a key public ambassador and brand evangelist for Jackpocket
Qualifications
- 5+ years of executive level operations leadership experience, including P&L ownership
- Demonstrated history of managing large and diverse cross-functional teams effectively and implementing scalable people-centric strategies to drive positive business outcomes
- Proven ability to assess operational structure, processes, and systems and develop and implement meaningful improvements and efficiencies
- High level strategic critical thinking skills with ability to ideade strategies as well as execute and implement them comprehensively and systematically
- Experience leading new market launches and expanding a hyper growth business across states in a highly regulated industry
- Strong executive presence coupled with outstanding communication and presentation skills; ability to influence effectively and generate buy in at the executive and board level
