Enterprise Architect

Role:

This individual will work closely with the office of the CTO and other technology leaders to help define IT strategy and vision for reference of product roadmaps both current and in the future. This person will help provide IT governance and guidance to effectively achieve both core business and technology goals of Gemini. As an Architect, you will be shifting your attention between several projects in an effort to provide architecture discovery sessions, change management activities and overall vision for technology at Gemini.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guide design efforts for mission critical systems and applications at Gemini
  • Plan, facilitate and support execution of strategic technology plans and roadmaps
  • Work closely with development leads to promote implementation consistency and standards across applications
  • Build customer journeys and solution scenarios aligned with Gemini’s strategy as a business
  • Identify and promote opportunities for software re-usability
  • Lead technical requirements gathering sessions to produce implementation requirements and design documents.
  • Assess and evaluate new and emerging technology for enterprise applicability
  • Align technology architecture with business strategy
  • Develop strong partnerships with business lines and their respective customers to develop strategic and innovative solutions.
  • Ensure that solutions are well engineered, operable, maintainable and aligned with the enterprise vision
  • Provide hands on assistance, mentorship and guidance to developers for technical issues.
  • Apply architectural and technology concepts to address scalability, reliability and maintainability
  • Provide recommendations based on industry knowledge and understanding of enterprise capabilities that support the business transformation plans and roadmaps

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years in capital markets (e.g., exchange, market maker, latency-sensitive broker etc.) and/or financial services industries
  • Several years experience in software, system and/or enterprise architecture disciplines
  • Experience building and scaling distributed, highly available systems
  • Familiarity with infrastructure management and operations lifecycle concepts and ecosystem
  • Passionate about technology with an interest in the latest trends
  • Creative, results driven, self-motivated, and solution-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Experience influencing key decision makers
  • Experience developing high-level architectural strategies, blueprints, and technology service target states that enable the delivery teams to further define the solution architecture
  • Build customer journeys and solution scenarios aligned with IT strategy
  • Administer and manage team tools, frameworks, repositories with the end goal of deriving actionable insights from data

PREFERRED

  • Passionate about technology with an interest in the latest trends
  • The ability to liaise with business and non business people
  • The capacity to establish credibility quickly
  • Comfort with working in highly unstructured environments where responsibilities and lines of authority are unclear
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams internally and externally
  • Desire to continuously learn and improve individual competencies as well as team
