About the Role
YieldStreet is hiring an IT Infrastructure Manager to work on the team responsible for all of our in-office IT infrastructure. Our users are global, using multiple operating systems, and work predominately on SaaS products for productivity. The job is to ensure that our user’s workstations are operating smoothly and securely and that we have prepared for bad luck with good planning.
This role is for someone who has experience in scaling an organization’s IT footprint in a secure and automated way. You will be responsible for building the internal IT organization, working with our managed services provider, and being both for the execution of projects. The role reports to the Head of Infrastructure.

What you'll do - Team Development:

  • Hire and manage IT analysts and systems engineers to accelerate the development of IT initiatives while also developing learning strategies to ensure their growth.
  • Develop IT documentation and operating procedures.

What you'll do - Secure Our Environment:

  • Design group policies using both AD and Jamf to ensure that our workstations are connected to the VPN when out of the office.
  • Work with the security team to bolster our defenses against bad actors, and internal threats due to misuse using tools for endpoint protection and data loss prevention.
  • Implement common sense security controls like password policy, idle screen timeouts, and mobile device management.
  • Develop testing plans and drills for restoring backups for our disaster recovery requirements.

What you'll do - Automate IT:

  • Automation is a first class product in the IT team at YieldStreet, this includes deployment of workstations and the management of applications. You may work on scripting several actions against the APIs of some of the SaaS providers we use or low to zero touch builds of employee workstations.
  • Create forms from our ticketing system to assist in the creation and deletion of accounts for IT onboarding/offboarding.
  • Design and implement future IT improvements and seek future automation opportunities.

What you'll do - Day to Day:

  • Maintain phone, A/V, and user workstations in the NYC office.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot in-office network performance and security.
  • Lead technology on-boarding and training for new employees.

What you'll need:

  • On the Internal IT team, we are the first line of defense against IT issues local and abroad and thus you analyze every change in the context of a much bigger picture, assess its risk for the future, and how it impacts other systems in the environment.
  • You look to eliminate inefficient processes and time-consuming work by automating at every opportunity with your team members.
  • You are pragmatic and you understand that your decisions can impact user’s productivity. This also means you are willing to dump processes and procedures that are not productive and learn from those failures to create ones that do.
  • At YieldStreet, we have the goal of becoming the largest wealth management company on the planet, and that means thinking out of the box to prevent the scale problems we will experience early on. You enjoy seeking opportunities to learn, onboard new tools, and teach.

How Yieldstreet is Making a Difference: "These Types of Opportunities Didn't Exist Before"
Watch

An Insider's view of Yieldstreet

What are some social events your company does?

My favorite part of Yieldstreet is our camaraderie. It’s refreshing to be part of a team that likes spending time together vs bolting for the door as soon as the clock strikes 5. We do group workouts, host guest speakers, do team outings, and go for dinners at popular spots like Vandal, Lavo and Nobu.

Meg

Chief of Staff

How do you collaborate with other teams in the company?

We collaborate across functional differences (your normal departmental divisions) and geographic distances. We not only share documentation about features and strategy, but also about the best spots to grab a bite, a drink, or to catch a show! Yieldstreet folks look out for each other, so our teams in Brazil, Argentina, Malta have followed suit.

Charlie

Product Manager

How has your career grown since starting at the company?

My career has grown tremendously in the year and a half at Yieldstreet. I started as the only Product Manager on the team, and as we've scaled, I have had the opportunity to grow the product team to six people. I was recently promoted to Director and now have a wide-ranging set of responsibilities and the capability to impact company strategy.

Glenna

Director of Product Management

How do you make yourself accessible to the rest of the team?

I sit amongst the team, grab lunch with the team, go to happy hours with the team and that is why I feel like I'm always in the know with the challenges and successes of the team. Being accessible doesn't have to just be scheduled and I expect that my team will / can come to me at any time or any place to address whatever needs to be addressed.

Matt

Head of Credit Underwriting

How does your team reward individual success?

I knew code wasn’t the only place I could contribute. Within a year I was involved on projects across 4 teams, was promoted to senior engineer, and now lead the mobile dev team. Last quarter I received our coveted Impala award, exemplifying that quarter’s mission: focus and blitz. My worst day at YS has been better than my best at any other job.

David

Senior Software Engineer
