About the Role
Common is looking for a highly entrepreneurial Senior Manager of Biz Ops and Strategy with product management or strategic operations experience. As a trusted brand and apartment operator, Common is uniquely positioned to launch new eCommerce and service offerings that make renters’ lives better and increase our buildings’ financial performance. In this role, you will be responsible for researching new product opportunities, validating demand, and launching new products as part of cross-functional teams.
What you’ll be doing
- Identifying and prioritizing the landscape of new product opportunities
- Conducting market research and customer interviews to validate demand for new products
- Writing operating plans and specs for new products
- Leading cross-functional initiatives to launch MVPs
- Collaborating constantly with department heads and ICs across Business Intelligence, Design, Marketing, Operations, Product, and Real Estate
- Analyzing customer data and product metrics to optimize results
- Helping scale successful products into high-growth business lines
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in Product or strategic Operations roles with a track record of taking on increased responsibility
- Prior experience with launching and scaling new initiatives in a product-driven tech or eCommerce environment
- Strong strategic thinking paired with attention to detail, the hustle to solve problems quickly, and a commitment to delivering results
- Tactical experience taking products from concept to launch with an ability to handle operationally demanding logistics
- Excellent cross functional communicator that understands the importance of getting alignment and building relationships with stakeholders
- Demonstrably clear and concise written communicator
- Prior small company or start-up experience required
- Exceptional quantitative skills, including Excel and SQL expertise
- Bachelor’s degree
- MBA not required, but preferred
