Affirm’s Compliance team designs and implements a compliance program that enables Affirm to proactively adhere to regulatory requirements while also identifying and addressing potential regulatory issues that may arise. Compliance program activities include advisory, guidance & training, independent testing & monitoring, reporting, escalation and oversight. Although a second line of defense, Compliance partners with the business to support new products, markets, and initiatives, change management, issue identification and remediation plans, assessment and monitoring of third parties, and provides trends and data to enable informed decision-making, strengthen controls or provide for better treatment of consumers.

In growing the company’s markets and products, Affirm is seeking a Senior Manager, New Markets Compliance to provide ongoing advice and support around our customer care and operations process and controls design and execution. In this capacity, this person will be responsible for partnering across the company to assess compliance risks and provide relevant information to successfully advise on and support the design and launch of new products and new markets both within and beyond the U.S. Based in San Francisco or New York City, this role will report to Affirm's Chief Compliance Officer.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Represent compliance in significant new product launches, including expansion of Affirm’s products and services internationally
• Own the compliance due diligence and risk assessment of new products and processes, working closely with other members of the compliance and legal team with related domain expertise or advisory responsibilities
• Partner with legal to establish the applicable regulatory requirements and determine the impact to product and/or process design, including the design of risk based controls
• Work with compliance team and other partners to define risk, compliance monitoring and oversight of outsourced and internal functions supporting any new product or market post launch, including marketing, operations, engineering, complaints, and customer communications
• Form relationships with critical business and functional partners

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of professional work experience in Compliance Risk, Audit, or Internal Controls particularly with experience in new product and/or market expansion
• Proven interpersonal, relationship management, and influencing skills
• Strong interest in fintech and consumer finance
• Demonstrable experience as a key contributing member of a high performing team
• Inquisitive and enthusiastic in proposing creative and effective solutions
• Demonstrable project management, critical thinking and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex and sensitive issues
