About the Role

We are seeking to fill a key position on our Fund Management and Research team: Senior Vice President of Hedge Fund Research & Due Diligence. This individual will be involved in selecting managers and conducting diligence on multiple hedge fund strategies using both quantitative and qualitative techniques. The role will entail significant outreach to the growing iCapital Network of advisors, including investor education and client engagement, with the ideal candidate having significant experience as a hedge fund allocator with deep product and strategy-level expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Source new managers and drive the diligence process for hedged private access funds (PAFs);
  • Coordinate with internal teams across the firm to ensure the appropriate structuring, smooth launch and timely reporting of all available hedge fund investment vehicles;
  • Drive engagement to the hedge fund platform through active client outreach;
  • Participate in meetings with investors, clearly articulating the potential benefits, risk and return characteristics of various hedge fund offerings;
  • Coordinate with the strategic partners of the firm to gather market intelligence and drive communication with our clients;
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive due diligence reports on managers, pre- and post-investment;
  • Keep abreast of investment opportunities in hedge fund strategies and sub-strategies, and be able to communicate that information across the FMR team and overall firm;
  • Prepare recommendations to our investment committee with respect to various investment opportunities;
  • Provide consultative guidance to wealth advisors on portfolio construction and asset allocation, spanning hedge funds and alternative investment strategies;
  • Develop educational research content and materials (e.g. blogs, Thought Pieces, White Papers, HF Compendium, etc,) for consumption by the iCapital Network

Qualifications

  • 10-15+ years of experience conducting due diligence on HF managers, preferably for a top-tier investment consultant, large institutional LP (e.g. pension fund / endowment), global bank or high quality FoHF;
  • Fund manager evaluation should be the candidate’s primary responsibility at current or prior firm;
  • Demonstrated qualitative and quantitative analytical skills;
  • Strong written communication skills; ability to present in front of senior professionals in the industry;
  • An ability to work both collaboratively and independently;
  • MBA / CFA preferred.
