Freshly, Incorporated, a rapidly emerging leader in the fully prepared meal, direct-to-consumer category, is seeking a seasoned logistics veteran to lead the continued build-out of its evolving Logistics department. The individual who can combine strong refrigerated food distribution experience, knowledge of cold chain packaging formats, and last mile packaged goods delivery systems in creating a best-in-class fresh prepared foods logistics network will find this position to be a rewarding stage in their career.

Responsibilities:

• Network design/optimization as the company scales, explores channel expansion, executes product line enhancements and extensions, and broadens its weekly delivery windows to consumers.
• Build strong logistics analytics platform including specialized individual skill-sets and utilization of latest modeling software in delivering data-based solutions and strategies.
• Drive packaging optimization initiatives related to shipping box refrigeration and insulation media, load cube and weight, and sustainability/end user disposal solutions, designed to ensure maximum food safety, and an improved customer experience.
• Design test and product monitoring protocols across all lanes and routes.
• Carrier sourcing, both line-haul and package delivery, and the negotiation and maintenance of all contracts, incorporating best-practices performance metrics.
• Active participation in professional cold-chain logistics workshops, conferences, and provider summits, as the industry sharpens its focus on cold-chain cost, efficiency, and service.
• Strategic planning (1-5 year time horizon).

About You:

• Undergraduate Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field required.
• Minimum 10-20 years of experience in national food distribution networks (CPG, perishables, etc.)
• Minimum 8-10 years in cold-chain logistics (food, pharmaceutical, etc.) with refrigerated food manufacturer or packaged goods delivery provider.
• Professional certifications (APICS CLTD, or other).
• Effective communicator both internally across multiple functions and vertically from Board to warehouse employees, and externally with carriers, 3PLs, etc.
• Strong industry connections and relationships.
• Key leadership competencies in addition to high ethical standards, strong values, integrity, drive to deliver results, pride in personal and team performance, decision quality, building effective teams, and action orientation are fundamental imperatives.
