In this leadership role, you serve as a senior technical resource for the organization, regularly interacting with other senior managers. You are an internally recognized expert in packaging development and packaging engineering. In this role, you identify, define and solve complex business problems by applying broad technical and consumer knowledge as well as an in-depth understanding of packaging technologies related to Mondelēz products.
How you will contribute
You will lead packaging projects or teams to design, develop, optimize and specify materials that deliver consumer benefit through new products, quality improvements and cost-savings opportunities. To do so, you apply industry-leading technologies and tools and leverage supplier relationships while effectively managing intellectual property rights. To excel in this position, you will deliver solutions on time and on budget using project management methodologies and providing status updates to stakeholders. You will also provide technical leadership for packaging development and packaging technologies by: continually updating your business-relevant expertise; driving the technical development of people by teaching, coaching, mentoring and identifying future technical leaders; defining and sharing technical best practices, and; influencing the technical direction of the business.

More about this role
What you need to know about this position:
This position is for a Group Leader in the North America Packaging Development Nourish and Jewels Group
What extra ingredients you will bring:

  • The candidate will lead a commercialization Group for the Nourish & Jewel portfolio and be the project lead for significant Packaging Development Initiatives in support of key NA Regional productivity and sustainability platforms.
  • Reporting into this role are Junior Engineers commercializing programs for the Nourish Business.
  • As the project lead, you will be accountable for delivering programs from concept to commercialization.


This role will interact with the following:

  • R&D North America Region Packaging Team
  • R&D Category peers and leads. Local & Global
  • NA Nourish and Jewels Brand leaders
  • ISC peers and leads for PCM, BD and External manufacturing
  • Procurement platforms Leaders. (Flexible, Carton & Corrugate and Rigids)
  • Key packaging material suppliers
  • Internal Plants and External manufacturing plants


Education / Certifications:
B.S or M.S. Packaging or Technical degree (Mechanical, Industrial Chemical or Food Engineering.)
Job specific requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in packaging development
  • Leadership experience required
  • Strong technical foundation and a high level of technical curiosity
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization.
  • Use of software including Word, Excel, and Minitab
  • Ability to influence others and get results through working with a diverse team
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage complexity
  • Executional excellence, personal leadership, time management and problem-solving competencies
  • Commercialization in biscuit or similar environment
  • Strong demonstration of living the values in leading by example.
