A Blue Sky Paralegal assists lawyers in the Regulatory and Enforcement and Investment Funds Practice Groups.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to managing the Securities and Exchange Commission and state regulatory filings for over 1,000 active hedge funds, commodity pools and private equity funds.

  • Interact with clients on a daily basis regarding sales management and regulatory filing requirements.

  • Interact with Sidley attorneys on a daily basis gathering information to prepare regulatory filings.

  • Maintain Sidley’s proprietary Blue Sky website and supervise and assist with client usage.

  • Analyze information contained in fund offering documents in preparing regulatory filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the states.

  • Prepare and file SEC documents and Blue Sky notices.

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with strong academic credentials.

  • A minimum of 4 – 7 years’ experience at a large law firm or hedge fund.

  • Experience/familiarity with hedge funds, offering documents and filings with the SEC.

  • Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

The target salary range for this role is:

$102,000 - $130,000 if located in New York.

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
