Role Overview

J.P. Morgan Private Bank Digital is seeking a motivated Senior Associate to join our Alternatives Product team. This role supports the development and execution of digital solutions for alternatives investments, working closely with product managers, advisors, technology, and other stakeholders to innovate, design, and develop technology that will enhance the advisor and client experience. The Senior Associate will contribute to product development and management, market research, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive innovation in this space.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with stakeholders to establish a vision and strategy for how to deliver new and valuable capabilities to the business.

  • Lead market research to identify leading private market trends that impact the advisor and client experience.

  • Collect and analyze advisor/client needs to determine how to transform and improve the advisor experience.

  • Follow a user-centric, design-led approach to create products with impact and explore transformational ideas.

  • Draft requirements documents and build a detailed functionality roadmap for alternative investment solutions for advisors and clients.

  • Clarify business requirements for the engineering team to ensure that solutions will achieve business goals.

  • Define and measure product KPIs to track progress and drive enhancement and prioritization decisions.

  • Lead and participate in design sessions with key partners in Technology, Design, and the advisor business.

AI Requirements

This role sits at the intersection of alternatives product management and applied AI. Candidates must arrive with demonstrated, hands-on AI capability — these are prerequisites for consideration, not skills to be acquired on the job.

  • Command of AI fundamentals. The candidate must already know how to prompt effectively, build their own agents and skills, write and run evals, and develop working prototypes. 

  • Demonstrated use of AI and genuine curiosity in the space is required. We expect evidence of active, self-directed engagement with the current AI landscape.

  • AI-enabled product thinking. The candidate must have hands-on experience using leading AI tools available today for rapid prototyping.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications a plus.

  • 3–5 years of experience in management consulting, product management, financial services, alternatives investments, wealth management, or related fields. 

  • Understanding of product management and building software products, including roadmap planning, requirement gathering, design, prioritization, and execution.

  • Foundational understanding of alternative investments.

  • Product management fundamentals: ability to define user needs, translate business requirements into feature specifications, prioritize and build a roadmap, collaborate with key stakeholders, and support cross-functional execution.

  • Executive-ready communication and influence: ability to distill complex private markets technology concepts into compelling visual narratives for audiences ranging from frontline Advisors to senior leadership.

  • Design thinking and user-centered research: proficiency in discovery techniques, ability to support usability evaluation of alternatives interfaces, and to iterate on designs through direct engagement with end users.

  • Domain knowledge in alternative investments: knowledge across private equity, private credit, hedge funds, real estate, real assets, and structured products, including the lifecycle of commitments, capital calls, subscription workflows, fund onboarding, and performance monitoring for illiquid assets.

  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Naturally curious mindset and a willingness to dig into the details.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Extremely curious about the investment landscape and trends within the alternatives space.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading product management teams and/or workstreams.

  • Experience with AI products and solutions with a drive to push innovation.

  • Industry experience working within management consulting, wealth management, asset management, financial services.
