Full Time -- Days / Evenings, Peer Specialist, Intensive Crisis Residence

St. Vincent's Hospital Westchester in Harrison, New York is seeking a dynamic, experienced Peer Specialist for a full time position in our Intensive Crisis Residence. The ICR will be a licensed, voluntary, short--term residential treatment program for adults experiencing a psychiatric crisis, providing treatment and supports to help residents return to their previous level of functioning in the community.

Reporting to the Program Director and working in collaboration with a multidiscipline team, the Peer Specialist provides crisis stabilization and peer support services in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have excellent engagement and counseling skills, and the ability to provide individual and group peer support services focused on coping skills, self-help strategies and engagement in ICR services. The Peer Specialist provides information and connections to supports in the community, focused on building social supports, connections to crisis prevention resources, and supporting individual recovery goals.

Requirements: A High School Diploma or Equivalency with at least one year experience working with adults in a mental health setting. Peer Specialist Certification is preferred.

Pay: $16-19 per hour
