As Splitero’s People Business Partner, you will be a strategic partner to the people managers who lead Splitero's teams. Your influence and support will help them solve problems, grow their teams, and ultimately drive our continued hyper growth.

You'll take full ownership over performance management and compensation, evolving both to match where Splitero is headed.  You'll also be the person managers and employees trust with the hardest conversations and issues that don’t always have a clear playbook, like investigations and employee relations. You will report to the VP of People and collaborate with our People Operations Coordinator and Manager of People Operations at our ever-growing startup.

About the Job

  • Act as a strategic partner to our people managers, coaching them through performance conversations, team dynamics, and the day-to-day challenges of leading their teams, ensuring they have what they need to succeed.
  • Own performance management end-to-end, evolving our review strategy as the company grows as well as providing support to people managers to create and update performance expectations (like KPIs) and helping them respond to unmet performance expectations in a consistent way.
  • Own and continuously evolve our compensation strategy, ensuring it aligns with Splitero’s business goals, by analyzing market data, administering merit and bonus cycles, and partnering with finance on commission plans.
  • Partner with leadership to identify and resolve workplace issues that impact engagement, productivity, or morale, translating data into recommendations that support our business objectives.
  • Deliver and evolve People Manager training and development programs that grow our current team and prepare future leaders for people management.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of People Operations policies, processes, and self-serve resources related to people management, performance, and compensation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues and workplace investigations, providing fair and consistent guidance in line with Splitero's policies and legal requirements.

The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

About You

  • 7+ years of HR experience, with 3+ years in an HR Business Partner role.
  • Proven experience owning compensation administration and evolving comp strategy over time.
  • Proven experience designing and evolving a performance management methodology, not just running an existing cycle.
  • Proven experience managing employee relations and conducting workplace investigations independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and influence people managers, building real partnership rather than advising from the sidelines.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to independently manage competing priorities without close oversight.
  • Follows through without being chased and holds themselves accountable for recurring, unglamorous tasks with no one checking in.
  • Based in San Diego, CA area, and the ability to be in-person 2-4 days per month is preferred.
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred.
  • Desire to participate in fast-paced early-stage startup
  • Adaptability: Embraces changing circumstances with resiliency and positivity
  • Team-Oriented: Prioritizes collaboration, inclusivity, and teammate support

About Us

Millions of homeowners in today’s economy are sitting on substantial home equity they are unable to access due to rising interest rates and strict qualification requirements of traditional lenders. That means millions of homeowners can’t convert their hard-earned equity into cash to pay off debt, start a home renovation, or pad their retirement to better their lives.

Splitero co-founders Michael Gifford and David Zvaifler witnessed the problem firsthand throughout their real estate careers. They set out to create a win-win product that could help those homeowners access their home equity but not make monthly payments like traditional financing options. And thus, Splitero was born.

As part of our team, you will join our quest to revolutionize the real estate industry while helping families in need. We offer a suite of benefits designed to help you thrive in all areas of life.

  • Fully Remote Team - Our remote-first culture allows us to hire the best people, regardless of location.
  • OneTeam Culture - We foster a culture of transparency, innovation, and inclusivity, where every voice is heard and every team member is valued. We believe in celebrating our successes, doing the right thing, and helping each other so we grow as a team and as individuals.
  • Generous Resources - We want to ensure you are set up to do your best work. In addition to a solid tech stack, and access to any WeWork location, you will receive a monthly cell and internet stipend.
  • Premium Healthcare - We offer comprehensive healthcare plans for you and your family, which employees are eligible for on their first day.
  • Flexible PTO and Parental Leave - We offer a generous PTO and encourage employees to take time off to recharge. We're proud to offer a parental leave policy that allows you to welcome your new addition without worry.

We are a workforce composed of individuals with diverse backgrounds, abilities, minds, and identities. In keeping with our commitment to inclusion, we will ensure that people with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodations. If reasonable accommodations are required when applying, interviewing, or performing the essential functions of this position, please contact People Operations, at [email protected].
