This team develops capabilities and delivers insights that directly enhance portfolio construction and investment performance.
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic director to help develop and maintain a suite of advanced quantitative tools that deliver insights into performance attribution, relative value, and asset allocation across the general account portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for the unique considerations of insurance general account investing and bring a mix of technical depth, investment acumen, and strategic thinking. This role presents a unique opportunity for the individual to help deliver actionable insights that inform portfolio construction and help shape long-term investment strategy.
What You'll Do:
  • Quantitative Tool Development: Support the design and deployment of analytical tools that enhance relative value frameworks while accounting for market dynamics, capital constraints, and insurance balance sheet considerations.
  • Performance Attribution & Benchmarking: Maintain and improve performance attribution models-both benchmark-relative and peer-relative-and integrate them into actionable dashboards and insights for portfolio managers.
  • Data Integration & Management: Partner in the development of scalable data management solutions that ensure clean, consistent, and accessible portfolio data to inform portfolio strategy.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with Asset-Liability Management (ALM), Risk, and Investment teams to incorporate balance sheet needs and regulatory constraints into the investment decision-making framework.

What You'll Bring:
  • 6+ years of experience working within or alongside insurance general account portfolios is required. Deep understanding of insurance-related investment principles, including statutory accounting (SAP/GAAP), RBC/capital requirements, and asset-liability management frameworks.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or equivalent, with demonstrated experience in building investment analytics is preferred. Proficiency in SQL or similar database languages is also strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a large organization, with a strong process-driven mindset and a collaborative approach to cross-functional initiatives.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, professional maturity, and a solutions mindset aligned with a high-performing investment culture.
