The Principal Business Consultant at SimCorp delivers expert solutions with a significant impact on projects and business outcomes. With typically 5-8 years of experience in consulting or a related field, this role leads projects autonomously, provides strategic insights, and applies specialized expertise to design and implement complex SimCorp Dimension solutions. The Principal Business Consultant collaborates with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align solutions with business objectives, ensuring exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction. 

At SimCorp, we facilitate the streamlining of investments, accounting, and operations for major global financial institutions. We do this through IT systems, processes, and financial knowledge. Implementing our software by way of high-quality projects is at the core of what we do. To introduce our software to our clients, business consultants are essential to us. 

In the role of Principal Business Consultant specializing in Front Office, your participation will be instrumental in the expansion of our market unit and in advancing the outcomes of our clients’ projects. 

You will normally be working full-time on implementation projects, which require your special expertise in the Front Office area — including order and trade management, multi-asset class trading, and portfolio management — and you will be responsible for all aspects of the project stream. You will act as an important sparring partner for your clients and effectively monitor, coordinate, and escalate issues as needed. 

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR 

  • Lead the design and implementation of tailored SimCorp Dimension solutions, ensuring alignment with client requirements and strategic goals 

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into actionable strategies 

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior consultants, fostering professional growth and ensuring high-quality project execution 

  • Independently troubleshoot complex issues and recommend innovative solutions to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency 

  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including workflows, integration plans, and technical specifications 

  • Manage client relationships and conduct regular updates to ensure client expectations are met and exceeded 

  • Drive process improvements and best practices across consulting engagements to optimize outcomes 

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge and continuously enhance solutions

As our preferred candidate you have: 

  • Previous experience as an Analyst or (Implementation) Consultant for asset managers, asset owners, banks or consulting firms 

  • Excellent know-how in at least two of the following areas: 

  • Front Office – Portfolio Management, Order & Trade Management – for Multi-Asset Class Investment 

  • Consulting or Professional Services within the Buy side sector 

  • An implementation role for a software vendor specializing in Asset Management software 

  • Asset Management candidates should have 3-5 years of experience working hands-on with front office/portfolio construction/trading functions and related enterprise applications 

  • Consultants should have experience with multiple enterprise implementations involving Front Office/Order Management functions on the buy side, and hands-on experience with applications similar to SimCorp Dimension 

  • Experience with portfolio construction, order management, trade execution, and/or compliance and limit monitoring across multi-asset class investment workflows is a plus 

  • Degree within Business discipline (Accounting, Finance, or Economics) or Mathematics/Applied Sciences preferred 

  • Self-starter with a can-do mindset 

  • Ability to manage assigned tasks and deliver valuable outcomes on time 

  • Have Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English – both oral and written 

  • Basic understanding of financial industry/products and related accounting 

  • Hands-on experience with SimCorp Dimension is a plus 

  • Ability to travel to client’s site 

  • Can attend the SimCorp office 2x/week as per our hybrid policy.

#Li-Hybrid 

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $163,520 - $245,280 USD. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including health care, leave, and retirement plans. Your total compensation may vary based on role, location, department and individual performance.
