A Little About Us
Yahoo's Consumer Data team enables consumer data capabilities across Yahoo verticals.  As a result, they can leverage advanced capabilities that any independent vertical could not buy or build cost effectively. The team has two focus areas: Domain Enablement, which publishes shared data as a product for use across multiple business units, and Data Activation, which creates outsized data leverage across business units.  This role leads a data activation squad for our user profile product area.

We're looking for an impressive individual who is passionate about all aspects of product management, is highly organized, and communicates well with internal and external stakeholders.  At Yahoo, PMs create a team culture that conceives, designs, and ships excellent products. You do this by modeling ownership and accountability, superb team leadership skills, humility, and curiosity.  As a PM, you understand, inspire, and focus your team(s) using excellent listening skills, influence abilities, and crisp, effective communication. You complement these skills with technical knowledge that informs your judgment regarding timelines, scope, quality, priorities, and trade-offs.  Ultimately, you are the expert on how products are designed, used, measured, improved, and generate business value. You support this expertise with a keen ability to break down large, complex problems into well-defined, manageable issues and an ability to use data to inform your judgment.
 
Your Day 

  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders & customers about product ideas and feature requirements.
  • Aligning with cross-functional leaders to create high-velocity product execution
  • Aligning with analytics and metrics – KPIs that drive business growth and engagement
  • Setting the mission and vision for the product area and defining a product strategy to achieve the vision.  
  • Executing the strategy with the team
  • Creating an environment for your team to be passionate about solving customer problems

 
You Must Have

  • 5+ years experience in a tech company in a related position (PM, Engineering, Project Mgmt, Technical Support, Technical Sales, Technical / Professional Services or Consulting, etc.)
  • Experience applying process and data modeling activities to streamline user experiences.
  • An ability to multitask, organize & lead complex projects, detail orientation, and summarize.
  • Experience delivering products using Agile / Scrum software development & Engineering practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think independently.
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills (written, verbal)
  • Media data expertise

Nice To Have

  • Experience using ML and AI techniques that drive product features
  • SQL and data analysis skills
  • Customer Data Platform experience

The compensation for this position ranges from $136,125.00 - $283,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
