About Polimorphic

We're on a mission to help state and local governments deliver better service to the people they serve. As service demands grow and budgets stay flat, we've partnered with over 200 government departments across cities, counties, and states to dramatically modernize how they work. Our platform spans AI-powered resident-facing services (chat, voice, search) and the internal tools governments use to manage cases, licenses, workflows, and more.

The Role

You’ll be part of a fast growing and collaborative product team. Every design decision we ship reaches real people navigating real government processes.

What you'll do
  • Conduct user research (remotely and sometimes in person) with clients to uncover needs, pain points, and behaviors, and turn insights into actionable design opportunities

  • Define user flows, wireframes, and product requirements that balance usability and organizational goals

  • Design polished, visually compelling interfaces that showcase strong visual design skills and build brand consistency

  • Apply design patterns, common interaction models, and reusable components to create intuitive, scalable solutions

  • Review design implementation with engineers, working together to craft the right experience

  • Evaluate designs through testing and analytics, using insights to refine and improve the user experience

  • Build and maintain design systems that support consistency, efficiency, and collaboration across teams

  • Enhance experiences with thoughtful micro-animations and motion design that add clarity, feedback, and delight

We'd love to hear from you if you have
  • 2+ years of experience designing UX and UI for a software product of comparable scope and complexity

  • A degree or background in Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science

  • Fluency in interaction design and prototyping with AI, with the ability to express nuanced decisions in high-fidelity

  • Excellent visual and interaction design skills & experience with design systems

  • Comfort with ambiguity, and a pattern for turning open-ended problems into focused, well-reasoned solutions

It's a plus if you also have

  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS, React, or experience working closely with a frontend codebase

  • A design/development hybrid background — you've written code, merged PRs, or shipped things directly

  • Prior work with AI-powered features or conversational interfaces

  • Background in B2C products, designing for consumer-facing products across various screen sizes
