About Hook

Hook is a social music platform, backed by top-tier investors, building the next generation of music discovery, fan expression, and creator growth. We turn the songs people love into sounds they can play with — enabling fans and creators to reimagine music through intuitive, remix-friendly experiences with zero learning curve. By partnering directly with artists, labels, and rightsholders, Hook ensures music is discovered, shared, and expressed in ways that respect and reward the people behind it. At Hook, music isn't just consumed — it's experienced, expressed, and made personal.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Product Intern to work directly alongside our product lead on Hook's consumer app across iOS and web. In this role, you will assist with day-to-day product operations as the app scales.

You will own incoming marketing requests, product trackers, and follow-through across projects, and take on workstreams of your own as you earn trust. You will work with Hook's product, engineering, design, marketing, and growth teams. You must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee incoming marketing requests: scope them, route them to design or engineering, and track them to delivery

  • Build and maintain the trackers product, engineering, and marketing work from, such as launch checklists, request queues, and status boards

  • Keep Jira tickets accurate, run follow-ups after meetings, and flag blockers and slipping dates early

  • Help pull and analyze product data to answer questions from the product and growth teams

  • Check event tracking and follow up on growth experiments with the product lead

  • Represent product in cross-functional calls with engineering, design, and marketing, and drive decisions to closure

Required Skills & Experience
  • Currently a senior undergraduate or a master's student

  • Project management experience from an internship, job, student organization, or side project

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills

  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

  • Able to work in person from our TriBeCa, NYC office

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • A previous product management internship

  • A data or engineering background, such as SQL, analytics tools, or a technical degree

  • Familiarity with Jira, Figma, or product analytics tools like Mixpanel

  • Experience working at an early-stage startup

  • Passion for music and technology. Music industry experience is not required.

Why This Role Matters

This role will shape how Hook's product team runs as the consumer app scales and help define the processes product, engineering, and marketing use to ship.

Compensation

This internship is unpaid and available for school credit. The internship offers the opportunity for exceptional interns to grow into a longer-term or full-time role at Hook.
