About Merciv

Merciv is a consumer intelligence platform. We help the world's biggest consumer brands understand their consumers. We connect their internal knowledge, third-party data, and the entire open web into a unified source of truth they can act on. We raised $14M in seed funding, spent two years in stealth building and directly serving enterprise customers, and we're growing fast. We're a lean, high-ownership team. If you want to see your work make an immediate impact, this is the place for you.

The role

We're hiring our first dedicated product marketer to own the bridge between our product and our customer — how we articulate Merciv's capabilities, use cases, value, and proof in a way that converts interest into pipeline and helps Sales close it. Our brand and content function owns awareness and top-of-funnel; you own conversion — mid-to-bottom funnel, product storytelling, and sales support. You'll be accountable for it.

Our buyer is a VP of Consumer Insights (and their peers) at an enterprise consumer company. The sale is multi-stakeholder, long-cycle, and built on trust — we're asking teams to bring their proprietary data into our platform. Your job is to make our value legible to that buyer, in their language, and to arm the champion inside every account.

This is a hands-on seat. You'll set the positioning and hold the pen on much of what carries it: decks, one-pagers, ads, simple landing pages — working within brand systems, with our brand team raising the craft ceiling where it counts.

What you'll do

  • Own positioning and messaging: value maps that ladder every capability to a quantified outcome for a named buyer — including our answer to "why not just use ChatGPT?"

  • Run go-to-market for new features and capabilities: launch narrative, tiering, and the cross-functional plan across Product, Sales, and Marketing.

  • Build sales enablement: pitch narrative, decks, one-pagers, battlecards, objection handling, demo scripts, and a demo video library.

  • Create mid-to-bottom-funnel content: solution and use-case pages, demo narratives, case studies, and comparison content.

  • Keep our competitive intelligence sharp — vs. generic AI tools, social listening platforms, and direct competitors — and feed it back into messaging.

  • Run win/loss, buyer interviews, and usage research that ground the positioning in reality and inform the roadmap.

  • Partner directly with the product team as capabilities are developed, so what we build and how we talk about it stay in lockstep.

  • Flex into adjacent work where it moves the number: website conversion, demand campaigns alongside Product Growth, events and webinars.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years in product marketing at a high-growth tech startup, ideally B2B selling to enterprise buyers.

  • Experience positioning for senior data, insights, or analytics audiences — rigorous buyers who are skeptical of marketing claims.

  • Experience marketing trust: the messaging and proof (security, privacy, credibility) that convinces enterprises to bring proprietary data into a platform.

  • A track record with data-heavy B2B platforms — making complex products legible without dumbing them down.

  • Shipped converting work you can tie to win-rate, conversion, or influenced pipeline — not just output.

  • Hands-on: you produce the assets, not just the strategy behind them.

  • A modern PMM: fluent in AI-assisted workflows and automation, with a clear view on what you automate and what you don't.

  • High ownership, low ego — take direction well and push back with a clear POV.

Nice to have

  • Long-cycle, referral-driven enterprise sales motions and multi-stakeholder deals.

  • AI / data / research-tech category fluency.

  • CPG / consumer-brand familiarity — it's where our buyers live.

  • Experience standing up a PMM function from scratch, or operating as a team of one.

How we work

  • Small team, high ownership, direct feedback. In-person in NYC.

  • Evidence over opinion — message testing, win/loss, and conversion data settle debates.

  • This is a results-driven role: you'll be measured on influence — win rate, conversion,

  • adoption, influenced pipeline — not raw lead volume.

Hiring process

An intro call with the Head of Marketing, a cross-functional conversation with Product and Sales, a working session on real Merciv material where you tell us what you'd change and why, and a final conversation with leadership where you walk us through your 90-day plan. Two references. Roughly 2–3 weeks end to end, and we'll tell you where you stand at every step.

Merciv is building the future of autonomous commerce. We're committed to assembling a diverse team of builders who want to revolutionize how the world does business.

We are an equal opportunity employer, and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability, genetic information, or other applicable legally protected characteristic.
