Product Development & Sourcing
- Concept to Sample: Partner with the Design team to translate seasonal trends and concepts into garment samples for product meetings, and other miscellaneous product developments.
- Product Development Strategy: Align with the Production Manager on allocation strategies before placing sample requests with overseas factories.
- Proactive Delay Mitigation: Collaboratively and proactively problem-solve with vendors and Design when sample yardage or trims are delayed; secure alternative mock-ups or alternate physical visual representation for critical milestone product meetings.
- Costing: Request costing records and ensure vendors submit costing info for all developments prior to milestone product meetings.
- Data & Analytics: Track, analyze, and report development and adoption ratios related to pre-season product roadmaps.
Production Management & Execution
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Interface daily with internal teams (Design, Merchants, Transportation, Tech, QA etc.) and actively participate in critical cross functional meetings.
- Vendor Communication: Act as the primary daily point of contact between overseas vendors and internal AEO teams regarding bulk approval status, production status, and purchase order delivery, escalating any concerns to the Production Manager.
- TOP Sample Review: Review top of production samples weekly with design and follow up on comments with vendors. Manage all mail that arrives and keep samples organized so that CFT can easily access as needed.
- Calendar & Deadlines: Help drive adherence to the AEO corporate and department specific Time & Action (T&A) calendars, ensuring that PLM deadlines, merchant PO issuance, and other design, production and merchandising deadlines are met.
- Data Entry & Purchase Order Creation: Drive and maintain seasonal "buy process" with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring 100% accuracy in data entry and purchase order creation through close coordination with merchant teams and global vendors.
- SOP Optimization & Maintenance: Help maintain, and improve department SOPs and hold internal and external partners accountable for maintaining our established processes and record-keeping systems.
- Data Reporting & Visualization: Comfortable utilizing Excel and Google Sheets to organize data and summarize relevant information for the Production Manager and other internal and external partners.
- Ad-Hoc Projects & Initiatives: Flexibly manage unexpected, miscellaneous requests and special projects as needed, adapting quickly to support shifting priorities to support business growth.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or equivalent
- 3-4 years related experience in Apparel; Denim experience preferred
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and project management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
- Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
- Ability to act as liaison between many departments; excellent communication and analytic skills
- Must be detail oriented, computer literate and able to handle multiple tasks at once
- Comfortable working in an hybrid environment - working in office as well as remote work from home
