What’s on offer?

We are seeking an experienced and energetic Program Accountant to complement our existing team and support our expanding long-term program of works in the Victorian Utilities sector. Based in Lynbrook, you will be part of a dedicated team delivering a diverse portfolio of multidisciplined projects, including earthworks, treatment plants, large-scale pipelines, pump stations and concrete structures.

In this role you'll be responsible for:

  • Coordination of weekly and monthly reporting of project financial performance including cost to date forecast, cost to complete forecast, revenue and forecast margin

  • Preparation and ongoing maintenance of program resource and plant costing rates and fixed-asset register

  • Manage compliance with Head Contract financial accounting processes and procedures

  • Lead project and program financial auditing with internal stakeholders, client and external auditors and implement actions arising from audit findings

  • Liaise with Project Managers & Contract Administrators regarding head contract and subcontractor claims management and establishment of accounts with suppliers

  • Preparation, reconciliation and maintenance of financial processes and reporting including but not limited to balance sheets, P&L, accounts payable and receivable.

How you'll connect to the role:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering/Accounting or similar and a minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting / contract administration

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office and experience with JDE software (advantageous), but not essential

  • Experience in ensuring costs control is managed to meet client & internal requirements

  • Ability to maintain ongoing review of the project status & advise where corrective actions are required

  • Demonstrable experience in developing and maintaining interactions and relationships with internal and external key stakeholders
