Position Summary

Responsible for establishing and implementing policies and procedures according to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene standards, ensuring the quality of care, maintaining, and overseeing operations and clinical functions of the Program. Providing direct supervision for staff when applicable.

 

Essential Accountabilities

ADMINISTRATION

  1. Oversee the hiring process of all staff, reviewing resumes, setting up and conducting interviews.

  2. Orientation / training of all staff.

  3. Responsible for program evaluation and Quality Assurance.

  4. Document supervision of staff, including providing formal, bi- weekly direct supervision to Assistant Director.

  5. Completion of annual staff evaluations. Progressive discipline, corrective action, and termination of employees as necessary.

  6. Oversees schedule to assure appropriate shift coverage.

  7. Overseas all file documentation. Periodically does internal audit of files and review tracking form.

  8. Maintains program budget and other administrative tasks as required.

  9. Co-facilitates monthly staff meetings with Assistant Director. Facilitates monthly meetings with overnight staff.

  10. Responsible for ensuring compliance with DOHMH regulations.

  11. Completion of monthly and annual reports.

  12. Responsible for overseeing, identifying, and reporting of physical plant safety issues. Interact with General Service personnel.

  13. Approval of purchases for the facility.

  14. Responsible for completing payroll

  15. Responsible for maintenance of activity funds and petty cash funds.

  16. Participate in integrated activities, i.e. social / recreational activities and cultural events.

  17. Reports to Deputy Director.

OPERATIONAL

  1. Facilitate communication between program, Intake Department and tax credit Management to ensure maintenance of waitlist.

  2. Evaluates treatment and care of residents and monitors records. Oversees Program self-audit process.

  3. Conduct weekly case reviews with residential staff

  4. Oversees Residence staff towards development and implementation of Service Plans. Facilitates communication between all staff towards assisting residents in the attainment of Service Plan goals.

  5. Oversee discharge process. Supervise the implementation of the discharge plan.

  6. Ensure ongoing training and development of staff.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Participation in the development and implementation of program training.

  2. Attend workshops and conferences as requested. DOHMH mandatory training courses required.

  3. Transport residents with agency vehicles as needed.

  4. Responsible for maintaining (or having access to) a personal vehicle throughout the course of the workday.

  5. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Masters Degree in Human Services, Social work or related social service with 1-year experience or a Bachelors degree in human services or related field with five years of supervisory experience required. New York State drivers license and access to a vehicle required.
