Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Project Execution Oversight

  • Provide day-to-day execution oversight for multiple large and complex projects led by Senior Project Managers.

  • Ensure projects are executed in accordance with contractual requirements, approved execution plans, and portfolio priorities.

  • Review and challenge project schedules, resource plans, risk registers, and mitigation actions to ensure robustness and realism.

  • Drive execution rigor and consistency across projects, ensuring early identification of deviations and timely corrective actions.

Governance, Risk & Escalation

  • Establish and lead project governance cadence (project reviews, risk reviews, recovery plans) for assigned projects.

  • Consolidate and manage cross-project risks and dependencies (engineering, factories, supply chain, site readiness).

  • Escalate material risks, capacity conflicts, or execution trade-offs to the Portfolio Leader with clear options and recommendations.

  • Support recovery of at-risk projects, leading corrective action plans in coordination with Senior PMs.

Financial & Performance Control

  • Oversee project-level cost, margin, and cash performance, ensuring discipline in forecasting, EAC updates, and contingency usage.

  • Review and validate major financial assumptions before escalation to the Portfolio Leader.

  • Support Senior PMs in managing variation orders, claims preparation, and commercial exposure.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop Senior Project Managers, reinforcing accountability, execution discipline, and leadership behaviors.

  • Ensure consistent application of project management processes across assigned projects.

  • Actively contribute to talent development, succession planning, and capability building within the project team.

Cross-Functional, PCO &  Factory Coordination

  • Act as a key execution interface with engineering, factories, sourcing, quality, and site teams to resolve delivery issues.

  • Support alignment of factory priorities and capacity for assigned projects, escalating conflicts through the portfolio governance structure.

  • Ensure lessons learned, standardization, and best practices are captured and deployed across projects.

  • Work closely with the PCO team to ensure unified communication, consolidated risk management, and coordinated delivery of all GE scopes within the overall customer program.

Customer & Stakeholder Interface

  • Support Senior PMs in key customer engagements, milestone reviews, and escalation meetings as required.

  • Reinforce consistent and transparent communication with customers, aligned with the portfolio strategy and messaging.

  • Represent the execution organization in internal forums when delegated by the Portfolio Leader.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.

  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience executing large, complex electrical substation or power projects.

  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple concurrent projects through Senior Project Managers.

  • Strong execution background across engineering, manufacturing, delivery, installation, and commissioning phases.

  • Solid understanding of project financials, risk management, and contractual exposure.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (~25%).

  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience working within portfolio or program structures for large EPC or OEM projects.

  • Strong execution mindset with the ability to balance short-term delivery pressure and disciplined governance.
