We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer to oversee and manage technical projects from initial planning through successful completion. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with project coordination responsibilities, requiring someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and innovation are valued.


Core Responsibilities

Technical Operations & Field Work Perform comprehensive field assessments including onsite electrical equipment evaluations, operational testing, and commissioning activities. Conduct regular inspections of buildings and equipment to identify maintenance and repair needs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices. Supervise electrical equipment maintenance, testing activities, and contractor work to ensure quality standards are met.

Project Management & Coordination Manage the entire project lifecycle including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, track progress against milestones, and ensure deliverables are completed within established timelines and budget constraints. Assist in cost estimation, procurement of materials, and implementation of cost control measures throughout project execution. Review and approve project expenses, change orders, and payment applications as needed.

Design & Engineering Support Collaborate on designing project plans, specifications, and engineering drawings using CAD software. Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards. Provide technical expertise in building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety systems, and reliable power systems (UPS, batteries, emergency generators, transfer switches, switchgear, and distributed generation).

Operations Support Coordinate with client, contractors, and vendors to oversee equipment installation, testing, and maintenance events. Identify potential safety issues, and any impacts to equipment and site operations. Prepare detailed MOP’s necessary to execute the events.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communication with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts and monitor service delivery. Review and analyze project contracts, specifications, and terms to ensure compliance throughout execution. Facilitate regular progress meetings and provide timely project updates.

Quality Assurance & Risk Management Establish and enforce quality control procedures to ensure project standards are consistently met. Identify potential project risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions or delays. Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement monitoring and control measures. Resolve complex technical issues and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Documentation & Reporting Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation including maintenance schedules, equipment logs, service records, project budgets, and technical specifications. Maintain accurate project documentation to ensure compliance and facilitate informed decision-making. Stay current with industry trends and identify opportunities to enhance technical services delivery.


Required Qualifications

Education & Licensure Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facility Management, or related field required.

Experience Minimum 1-2 years of experience in data centers, technical services, facilities management, project engineering, or similar role. Demonstrated experience with reliable power systems including UPS, batteries, emergency generators, transfer switches, switchgear, or distributed generation. Strong knowledge of construction principles, processes, methodologies, and industry best practices.

Technical Competencies Sound understanding of engineering and construction principles. Strong knowledge of building systems and equipment including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software, AutoCAD, or other drafting software. Familiarity with facilities management software systems.

Core Skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with capacity to identify complex issues, resolve technical challenges, and propose practical solutions. Outstanding organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership capabilities with ability to manage, motivate, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Estimated compensation for this position:

100,000.00 – 125,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
