Role Summary: 

We are seeking a successful, qualified, and experienced Community Medical Liaison (Regional Social Worker) Project Lead to provide director-level leadership for the IQVIA Community Medical Liaison program supporting Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, Neuroscience. This role is a step up from the Community Medical Liaison Manager position and is responsible for overall project leadership, client partnership, contract performance, strategic planning, team development, hiring, coaching, mentoring, and operational execution across the national field-based CML team.  

The Project Lead will serve as the primary operational and strategic point of contact for IQVIA and Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine stakeholders, ensuring delivery of program objectives in accordance with contractual requirements, compliance standards, and client expectations. The role will provide strategic oversight for disease state and product education initiatives related to current and future Johnson & Johnson Neuroscience therapeutic areas, including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and mood disorders. The Project Lead will also guide field execution, develop and implement program enhancements, monitor performance against goals, identify business opportunity.  CML program in cross-functional planning with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Sales, Advocacy, Strategic Customer Group, Business Development, and other internal and external partners. This is a field-based leadership position with travel required. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the overall IQVIA Community Medical Liaison program supporting Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, Neuroscience, ensuring successful delivery of contractual objectives, operational expectations, and program performance goals. 
  • Serve as the primary project leader and key relationship manager for IQVIA and Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine stakeholders, maintaining effective communication, governance, reporting cadence, and issue escalation pathways. 
  • Partner with Johnson & Johnson Medical Affairs, Marketing, Sales Leadership, Advocacy, Strategic Customer Group, Business Development, and other cross-functional partners to develop and execute short- and long-term CML strategy. 
  • Provide strategic direction for national field execution, including territory coverage, account prioritization, stakeholder engagement, patient and caregiver education initiatives, and treatment team education opportunities. 
  • Own program planning and operational oversight, including project timelines, deliverables, performance tracking, reporting, issue resolution, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement efforts. 
  • Manage contract-related responsibilities in partnership with IQVIA Business Development and leadership, including scope of work alignment, budget awareness, change control support, resource planning, client satisfaction, and identification of program expansion opportunities. 
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Community Medical Liaisons, creating a high-performing, compliant, collaborative, and engaged team culture.
  • Conduct field visits and coaching sessions with CML Managers and/or CMLs to reinforce program expectations, strengthen clinical and educational execution, support compliance, and model best practices. 
  • Provide oversight for multidisciplinary healthcare professional education, patient and caregiver education, advocacy engagement, and other approved field-based activities in accordance with current regulatory and healthcare compliance guidelines. 
  • Collect, synthesize, and communicate marketplace trends, clinical insights, customer feedback, educational gaps, and field observations to inform Johnson & Johnson Neuroscience strategy and program enhancements. 
  • Prepare and present program updates, business reviews, performance summaries, strategic recommendations, and other project information to IQVIA leadership and Johnson & Johnson stakeholders. 
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with IQVIA policies, Johnson & Johnson requirements, applicable regulations, healthcare compliance standard privacy guidelines, and project-specific procedures. 
  • Act as a change leader for new initiatives, launches, resource updates, process improvements, and evolving client priorities, ensuring clear communication and effective implementation across the team. 

Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree required in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, nursing, public health, health sciences, or a related healthcare field; advanced clinical licensure or certification in mental health strongly preferred. 
  • Minimum of seven to ten years of relevant healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical affairs, field leadership, clinical education, social work, behavioral health, or related experience preferred. 
  • Prior people leadership experience required, including coaching, mentoring, performance management, hiring, onboarding, and development of field-based teams. 
  • Experience leading complex client-facing projects, contract teams, cross-functional initiatives, or field-based healthcare programs strongly preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders and to serve as a strategic advisor to client leadership. 
  • Strong understanding of neuroscience, behavioral health, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, mood disorders, patient/caregiver education, treatment team education, and healthcare delivery systems preferred. 
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, written communication, and executive-level verbal communication skills in both in-person and virtual settings. 
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, business acumen, budget awareness, project management capability, and ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and deliverables. 
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance, regulatory considerations, privacy requirements, and appropriate field-based medical or educational engagement standards. 
  • Flexibility to travel locally, regionally, and nationally as needed. 
  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including business reviews, executive summaries, presentations, and project updates 
  • Problem solving, risk mitigation, change leadership, and continuous improvement 
  • High ethical standards and commitment to compliance, quality, and patient-centered education 
  • Oversee hiring, candidate selection, onboarding, training, succession planning, performance management, and professional development for the CML team in partnership with Recruiting, Human Resources, IQVIA leadership, and the client as appropriate.

The potential base pay range for this role is 200,000-225,000 annually. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
