The Technology team at SFM develops and supports the infrastructure, applications, and analytics that power all of the firm’s business activities, including portfolio management, risk management, trading, research, treasury, operations, finance, human resources, legal, compliance, and tax.  Our team consists of individuals with a range of expertise and backgrounds, ranging from quants and financial engineers to software engineers, cloud engineers, systems engineers, data engineers, and cybersecurity experts.

Job Overview

 

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a strategic Trade Lifecycle Transformation Program across our hedge fund platform. This individual will be responsible for driving the end-to-end modernization of processes, technology, controls, and operating models that support the trade lifecycle from trade capture through settlement, financing, accounting, reporting, and compliance.


The successful candidate will partner closely with Trading, Treasury, Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Technology teams to deliver a multi-year transformation initiative focused on enhanced commercial capabilities, operational scalability, risk reduction, process automation, and data quality.


This role, which will report to the Chief of Staff of Technology, requires a strong understanding of capital markets operations, front-to-back trade flows, and complex cross-functional program delivery within an investment management or hedge fund environment.

 

Major Responsibilities


Program Leadership

  • Lead the planning, execution, governance, and delivery of a firmwide trade lifecycle transformation program.
  • Develop and maintain program roadmaps, milestones, budgets, resource plans, and success metrics.
  • Establish program governance structures, steering committees, and executive reporting processes.
  • Manage interdependencies across multiple workstreams, vendors, and technology initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate program risks, issues, and execution challenges.

Business Process Transformation

  • Analyze and redesign end-to-end trade lifecycle processes across:
    • Trade Capture and Order Management
    • Trade Confirmation and Allocation
    • Treasury and Cash Management
    • Securities Financing and Prime Brokerage
    • Settlements and Reconciliations
    • Corporate Actions
    • Fund Accounting
    • Compliance Monitoring
  • Drive process standardization, automation, and control enhancements.
  • Develop future-state operating models aligned with business growth objectives.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering, process workshops, and solution design sessions.
  • Build strong relationships with portfolio managers, traders, treasury professionals, operations teams, compliance officers, and senior executives.
  • Communicate program progress, risks, and decisions to executive leadership.

Technology Delivery Oversight

  • Partner with technology teams to implement and enhance OMS, EMS, treasury, middle-office, back-office, and compliance platforms.
  • Coordinate system integrations, data migrations, testing activities, and production deployments.
  • Ensure business requirements are translated into actionable technical deliverables.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and third-party implementation partners.

Change Management

  • Develop organizational change management strategies to support adoption of new processes and technologies.
  • Coordinate training, communications, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Monitor business readiness and post-implementation stabilization efforts.


What We Value  


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 7+ years of project or program management experience within hedge funds, asset management, investment banking, or capital markets.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale front-to-back transformation programs.
  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle processes across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, and securities financing.
  • Experience working with Trading, Treasury, Operations, Compliance, and Technology stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-functional initiatives with multiple workstreams and executive sponsors.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Reduction in manual processing and operational risk.
  • Improved trade lifecycle transparency and data quality.
  • Increased automation and straight-through processing rates.
  • Enhanced treasury, operations, and compliance efficiency.

We anticipate the base salary of this role to be between $200k - $300k. In addition to a base salary, the successful candidate will also be eligible to receive a discretionary year-end bonus.
