Today the current JPMorgan Asset Management (JPMAM) middle office operating model varies by region rather than being client or investment solutions focused. The goal of the global middle office program (Project RIO) is to successfully implement  a strategic common global operating model for core elements of JPMAM’s Investment Operations, leveraging Commercial & Investment Banking Core Middle Office Services and thereby reducing JPMAM’s operational and technology complexity, enhancing service to our global and complex clients; achieving economies of scale and reduction in expense ratio as business grows; reducing effort required to add new product capabilities, and to improve timeliness and quality of global data

As a Global Project Manager in Project RIO, you will lead a program to implement a strategic global Collateral operating model for core elements of JPMAM’s Investment Operations, leveraging Commercial & Investment Banking's Core Middle Office Services. You will be responsible for system migration strategy, implementation road mapping, and partnering with a variety of business partners to ensure system readiness and support. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Migration lead for the outsourcing program with accountability define the migration strategy, ensure successful readiness of the system and processes supporting the future strategic operating model, and execute the implementation roadmap
  • Business liaison between all functional teams (Sales, Client Services, CAO, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Tech, Finance and other control functions), the service provider, other 3rd Parties vendors, and the internal program team
  • Work closely with Collateral workstreams to:
    • Design, manage, and execute the migration Command Centre and implementation playbook 
    • Establish  and manage appropriate governance, leadership and resources around all aspects of running the initiatives (e.g. regulatory, risk, financial, people, technology)
    • Ensure effective communication and escalation on overall program status, implementation plans, management issues, priorities and risks
    • Work with Collateral and Derivative middle Offices to confirm requirement and solutions of migration. 
    • Partner closely with global & location/region managers to establish consistency and best practices and provide thought leadership
  • Work closely with business partners and other operational leaders to ensure the future state system is fully ready to support the J. P. Morgan Asset Management outsourced functions 

Required Qualifications, skills, and capabilities: 

  • 8+ years of relevant project management experience

  • Proved ability and experience  in implementing large strategic initiatives with significant technology and operational component. 

  • Experience in Operations outsourcing in Asset Management or Financial Institution. 

  • Strong sense of prioritization & ability to execute against deliverables. Able to take personal accountability for projects & issue resolution

  • Analytic problem solver with excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Proven ability to build strong, cohesive partnerships with the business, operations, technology & other key stakeholders and work effectively in a matrix organization

  • Be able to lead, motivate and get the very best out of a high performing team of operations professionals

  • Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders to ensure decisions are well thought out and can be executed from an operations perspective

  • Excellent understanding of the investment process and associated market practices with the ability to think strategically about how to create business led solutions

  • Product knowledge of Investment management product offerings e.g., Mutual Funds, etc.

  • Experience in Collateral and Derivative Operations 

Preferred Qualifications, skills, and capabilities: 

  • Experience in Investment Accounting / Middle Office
