About the Role: Betterment for Business is an award winning 401(k) solution that works as hard for your money as you work to earn it. As part of the 401(k) offering, Betterment for Business works with retirement Advisors who specialize in 401(k) plan management, allowing them to deliver the Betterment 401(k) to their clients. We are currently looking for a Client Success Manager to establish and grow relationships with these Advisors. In this role you will work directly with our advisors to deliver a seamless experience to them and their end clients. This role will help to identify areas of opportunity to empower our advisors and assist in developing solutions for long term support and expansion of these client relationships. You are experienced in bringing top quality service to enterprise clients and have experience working in the financial services or fintech industry. This CSM role is an integral role on our Betterment for Business team and will work cross functionally with sales, product, and other teams within the organization to help drive results for our valued clients.

This role is remote eligible. We are hiring in all states except CO.

A Day in the Life: 

  • Engage and expand the growing book of business for the Advisor client segment ● Align with advisors on the outcomes they are trying to achieve for their clients and assist in outlining a roadmap for success 
  • Partner directly with our Advised 401(k) sales executives to help streamline client onboarding experience and increase repeat business from advisors 
  • Deliver expertise, education, and guidance to advisor clients 
  • Anticipate client risks and strategize ways to help mitigate churn 
  • Help identify areas of opportunity to enable Betterment for Business’ Advised 401(k) clients 
  • Contribute to a cross functional workplace by working alongside product, marketing, and sales to help focus other departments on VOC (voice of customer) 

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Relevant experience in a Client Success/Account Exec/Advisor role (or similar) managing enterprise clients for a B2B SaaS or financial services company
  • Must have experience in financial services or fintech (experience with retirement services, or financial advisory services is preferred) 
  • Excellent communication skills, including client facing verbal, written, and presentation abilities 
  • Experience providing feedback to product and engineering organizations to help boost voice of the customer 
  • Enthusiasm for a client driven organization and environment 
  • Ability to lead solutions oriented conversations and provide direction through thoughtful communication
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus

What Happens Next?

We expect to take a few weeks to review all applications. If we would like to spend more time with you, you will hear from us to arrange next steps. You can expect 3-4 sets of conversations, all remote, with your future colleagues in the weeks following your application. 

Throughout the interview process, we’ll look to learn more about your skills, experiences, capabilities, and motivators. Many of our interview questions will be behavioral, aimed at understanding how you might operate here at Betterment. We may ask you to complete a case study exercise or technical assessments, depending on the role, as we aim to collect a robust set of data points throughout the interview process. 

On average, it takes us around 4-6 weeks to complete the interview process. As a best practice, we aim to interview at least 3 final round candidates before making a hiring decision. 

Please note that we’re unable to offer individual feedback during the interview process. We usually see 1,000+ applications for open positions, and our hiring team simply doesn’t have the bandwidth to offer personalized feedback to each candidate.
