Movers and Shakers Foundation is an educational technology nonprofit start-up that is dedicated to empowering students of color by changing the American history curriculum, allowing them to see themselves in history by using immersive art and technology.
Movers and Shakers Foundation is looking for an experienced senior event coordinator to lead and execute all future events that will take place nation-wide. Must have proven event experience that delivers impactful virtual, hybrid, and in-person events on a large scale. This is a full time remote position that will start ASAP. The salary ranges from 85K-100K with Medical and Dental benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with C-Suite to create the vision for our events over the next two years
- Work closely with community manager to identify parallels between events and social media trends
- Prepare appropriate budget and meet deadlines in a timely manner
- Speak with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during event planning process
- Manage all event set-up, tear down, and follow-ups
- Book venues, contractors, speakers, etc all within budget
- Create and successfully meet overall event KPIs
- Regular travel is required
Core competencies:
- 3-5 years or equivalent experience in event management
- Strong vendor relationships and vendor management experience along with extensive and current knowledge of event venues, entertainment options and contracts in the US.
- Ability to manage changing priorities in a high-pressure environment
- Strong time management skills
- Negotiating skills
- Experience with a Registration Management System for events
- Strong communication and feedback skills
- Passion for the arts and emerging technology
- Personal commitment to social justice and equal education for all
