The Role:

The RFP Program Manager will manage the end to end strategy and execution for all elements associated with Newsela’s RFP function in order to maximize revenue and efficiency. You’ll manage the day to day process for our competitive RFP function, including RFP intake, evaluation, and execution. You’ll lead the RFP identification process, RFP bid and kick off meetings, draft review rounds, and will oversee risk assessment and mitigation and RFP submission. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for the project management of our RFP function, ensuring the team participates in every pre-bid meeting to gain a first hand perspective of the nuances and information shared that will drive the response. You’ll also ensure clear communication across all stakeholders throughout the RFP process. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for defining, executing, and dynamically iterating against an approved RFP strategy that optimizes the function for both quality and quantity. This will include establishing and tracking towards pipeline and bookings targets by quarter, and developing both reactive and proactive tactics to drive towards goal attainment. You’ll also continuously monitor the impact of the competitive RFP program leveraging SFDC and input from stakeholders on the new business sales team, as well as own the ongoing management of RFP dashboards and dynamic read outs against key priority RFP metrics. Reporting to the Manager of Buyer Insights, you’ll manage a small team (one RFP Writer and one Catalog Coordinator) and will collaborate closely with our Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, Tech, and Finance teams.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

As part of our Curricular Solutions team, you’ll get to work with an enthusiastic, cross-functional team to catapult Newsela’s growth as we scale our national sales organization. You’ll also have exposure to our Customer leadership team as well as key business stakeholders across the company. You’ll be part of a team paving the way for operational scale and your work will directly impact our ability to grow our business, ultimately bringing engaging, culturally responsive learning content to students and teachers nationwide. This is a remote role; you’ll work from your home “office.”

Why We’ll Love You:

You have 5+ years or experience leading a SaaS RFP Program, with at least 2 years of team management experience. You have expertise administering RFP proposal softwares, with a demonstrated ability creating and scaling a successful RFP function and achieving/exceeding bookings and pipeline targets. You’re well versed in Salesforce, have experience in data analysis in Excel (specifically revenue reporting), and have demonstrated success maintaining scalable RFP content repositories to ensure 100% of the content is up to date. You have a minimum of 2 years working in the K-12 EdTech space, preferably for a core solution provider. As an experienced project manager, you’re able to both strategize and execute, and have demonstrated ability to manage the on time and in-scope completion of RFP submission. You’re a skillful communicator who is able to build and nurture cross-functional relationships to ensure timely and optimal delivery of projects while keeping necessary stakeholders informed of critical updates. You take a data-first approach to leadership, with demonstrated abilities in establishing and tracking towards business metrics and KPIs, specifically pipeline influence and bookings.
