The Role:

The Newsela Content Operations team facilitates and enables the production of our dynamic and relevant article, multimedia and instructional content that teachers around the nation know us for. This role sits in the middle of the action project managing the builds of timely content projects for clients and product launches.  In this role, you will manage key production projects deliverables with diverse content stakeholders to ensure projects are on time and on budget, and act as the key point of contact between stakeholders and accountable parties. You’ll also help identify potential problems, facilitate solutions, and communicate next steps to ensure we’re delivering the best possible content products to teachers and students across the country. As a member of the Content Operations team, you will also modify and build out new processes to increase our efficiency, effectiveness and scalability as we continue to grow our content machine.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

You love solving puzzles and you have an eye for efficiency and problem solving. This role will be a key player in scaling Newsela’s content production needs while also facilitating exciting and meaningful projects to meet the direct needs of students and teachers across the nation. You will build exciting new processes that will help Newsela aggressively scale over the next couple all while collaborating with our creative editors and instructional experts.

Why We’ll Love You:

You are a proactive self-starter, and use your creative and strategic eye to help maximize situations. Efficiency is your middle name; you aren’t afraid to get into the weeds and use data to make improvements. You have demonstrated attention to detail, are brilliantly organized, and are able to seamlessly translate project needs, questions, and issues across teams to arrive at a timely solution that’s in scope and on budget. Ideally, you have a passion for education, literacy, and current events and may even have some experience in K-12 education or editorial work.

About Newsela:

One of the fastest growing tech companies in K-12 education, Newsela was founded on the principle that while every child learns differently, they all deserve a rich learning experience that ignites a love of learning. We built our platform based on learning science research to deliver the most engaging, authentic content to modernize how teaching happens in the classroom. Along with interactive assessments and tools, we provide teachers with digital content at five reading levels -- from +100 of the best sources -- that is relevant to the diverse backgrounds and interests of their students. Since we started in 2013, we’ve established a presence in 90% of U.S. K-12 schools and over 2.5M teachers and 37M students have registered with Newsela.
