Garner’s mission is to reconfigure how the US healthcare system works. By helping employers restructure their healthcare benefit to provide clear incentives and data-driven insights, we direct employees to higher quality and lower cost healthcare providers. The result is that patients get better health outcomes while doctors are rewarded for practicing well, not performing more procedures. We are backed by top-tier venture capital firms, are growing rapidly and looking to expand our team.

We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager to support our Engineering team in delivering on the numerous commitments it has to both internal and external stakeholders. This role is responsible for managing and monitoring the list of priorities and deadlines and communicating their status to stakeholders. This role reports directly to the Head of Engineering.

Garner is headquartered in NYC and this position is also available to individuals who are comfortable with remote work.

Main responsibilities

  • Identify, collect, and organize incoming requests for engineering, track their progress, and keep stakeholders informed of status
  • Proactively engage product and engineering leads to continuously evaluate, document, and communicate priorities
  • Assist the engineering team with software development lifecycle management and continuous improvement
  • Work closely with Garner’s infosec and legal teams to respond to security questionnaires requested by clients, security reviews of external vendors, and recurring technical security tests of Garner’s software systems

Ideal Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in project management, software delivery, consulting, or other related roles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently on multiple complex projects
  • Familiarity with agile software development principles
  • Comfortable working in a terminal with command line tools and other technical interfaces
  • A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success
  • A desire to be a part of our mission to improve the U.S. healthcare system
